some more shots from the zoo
Good Morning, today I will share a few shots from a recent visit to Buttonwood Park zoo
The Buttonwood Park Zoo, located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, is a zoo located in the center of Buttonwood Park. Opened in 1894, it is the third-oldest zoo in New England and the 12th-oldest zoo in the United States. Located on a 7 acres (2.8 ha) campus, the zoo is owned and operated by the City of New Bedford, with the support of the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. It is located on part of the Buttonwood Park Historic District, and federally designated on the National Register of Historic Places.
The zoo is home to more 250 different animals made up of more than 80 different species of animals, including many that are rare and endangered

This visit was around mid day and it was a hot day the bison seemed to be feeling the heat, the first shot of one sitting chilling and this next shot of one laying down and chilling and having a sand bath

I do believe this is a hawk, but I could be wrtong feel free to correct me if I have got it wrong, it had caught a rabbit I think

Next up a wolf, the enclosures are not that big and with the fences around them its not always easy to get shots of them, and I still do plan to visit the Zoo in providence which is bigger, I still enjoy this local zoo and since I have a yearly membership I can pop there anytime I want

and to finish off this little train, on the day I took this there wasnt to many at the zoo so I could get a shot of it without any children in view, on the visit before that the zoo was busy and lots of kids were enjoying riding on the train
