Day 29!!! Trees 🌱 are very important to our environment, indispensable, we could say. So, how do you celebrate them?
Share with the Hive Argentina community any tree-related celebrations in your country or town, and how you'd like to see them celebrated!
This topic ... well of course it's simply treetastic... find out why ....
Trees Rock
If you know me, then you know I love nature and that includes trees.
I remember as a child being given a small book with pictures of trees that you find in the UK. We would embark on walks and I would be armed with my tree book. During the walk I would be quizzed as to what tree this is or what tree this was or what nut this is and what tree did it come from?
It did not stop at trees, it also included the fruit or nuts.
I would learn to identify them and even today Mrs T is still surprised when she asks what one is and I tell her.
Education and learning, don't you just love that, and something children should love too!
This post then will be interspersed with tree pictures that I take, and I take hundreds!
The good for the enviroenvironmentemnt they do is beyond good!
Fact number 1 .... UK National Tree Week 23 November – 1 December 2024
Back in 1973 there was a project called Plant a tree for 73, this then led to the creation of the tree council
They raise awareness and look after trees in the UK as the name suggests!
Okay then .... I have got sidetracked and ..
applied to a Fife Tree Warden....
Well I just applied to volunteer!
How cool will that be ....

What the fluff is a Tree Warden?
I am so glad you asked!
This then is what I want to do to celebrate trees in my county of Fife in Scotland!
This then is the sort of thing that I would be doing ...Tree Wardens are local tree champions who plant, look after and stand up for the trees in their patch. The scheme is open to anyone. No prior training or experience in tree management are needed – just a love of trees and a few hours to spare.
The typical duties of a tree warden would include:
- Champion trees in their community and seek planting opportunities
- Plant and care for trees
- Manage local woods, for example by removing invasive species
- Survey trees to provide early warning of threats and disease
- Monitor special trees and find trees worthy of protection
- Encourage others to value the community’s trees and woodland
- Lead guided tree walks and give talks to local groups
- Find sites for tree planting and support community fundraising
- Assist fruit tree planting and orchard care
- Collect local trees’ seeds and grow trees

Just imagine I end up volunteering to help trees and help our planet all through the efforts of @hiveargentina to set a prompt for the InLeo prompt series on the Hive blockchain.
The more real life cases we get for Hive and Leo the better is what I say!
Helping orchards and wood trails?
As some of you know I have a par five minutes from my home which I visit at least once every week and will go in the wooded trails.
How cool would it be if I got to be their eyes and ears?
Perhaps I could even be a lookout for our resident wizard ...

Well if I do end up becoming a Tree Warden thanks to a prompt from @hiveargentina then yeah it will have changed my life.
I never even knew all this stuff existed!
