As a traveller, apart from tourist attractions, there are other things that should not be forgotten to always be on the bucket list. Local culinary specialities. Therefore, when it comes to taste, my tongue has begun to be familiar with many flavours, maybe you could even say I'm a traveller with a million tastes. Because when talking about specific tastes, I feel confused. I'm not a picky eater, so, as long as the flavour of the food isn't too bad, I'll just love it.

This also applies when I go to Wonosobo. Maybe people who visit this cold city only often hear that the speciality food of Wonosobo is Mie Ongklok. Naturally, because along the way... there are so many ongklok noodle stalls. However, please note that there is one more culinary speciality of Wonosobo, which is Nasi Megono.

NASI MEGONO WONOSOBO

It should be underlined, that if you search in the browser about megno rice, maybe the first thing that will come out is the appearance of megono rice typical of Pekalongan city. Pekalongan megono rice is made from easy jackfruit that is chopped and then mixed with coconut seasoning with a distinctive aroma of kencur. Unlike Wonosobo megono rice, the mixture is not made from young jackfruit, but the main ingredients are vegetables and grated coconut. This is similar to Klaten's gudangan rice.
However, that's how unique a culinary is, even though the name is identical, it can be much different.

That morning, I was served megono rice in the breakfast menu at an inn. Because I was alone with my friend, so, two servings of megono rice, two mineral water, there is also fried tempeh flour. There were also two servings of fruits consisting of watermelon, papaya, and melon as appetizers.

OTHER TERMS

There is a unique story about megono rice from Wonosobo, which is actually known as dirty rice. Maybe it's because it looks like dirty rice. About the taste, take it easy, it's delicious. But if you have to compare whether to choose Wonosobo or Pekalongan megono rice, I prefer Pekalongan. The seasoning is more pronounced.

That's all my story about Wonosobo speciality food and a little knowledge. For the next trip, I will definitely share it with all of you. Thank you for reading!
