Good morning, everyone! Long time no see ya!
I hope you like weird music, since I'm sharing three great tunes today!
This post is my entry for the Three Tune Tuesday - Week 184, the #threetunetuesday initiative by @ablaze.
Sadly, none of these songs had an official video clip, so there's only audio...
The first one is What The Water Gave Me by Mishkin Fitzgerald, a great artist from Brighton, England with a never-ending amount of creative talent.
She describes this music as Dark Cabaret / Orchestral Rock and this is a very catchy song:
Mishkin Fitzgerald - What The Water Gave Me (2012)
Next, something related... Bang Bang [Nancy Sinatra Cover] by Birdeatsbaby. This is the band created by Mishkin Fitzgerald. She was their lead singer & piano player for 16 years, as long as the band stayed active.
The original song was already great... but somehow, I think they were able to take it to the next level! 😎
Birdeatsbaby - Bang Bang [Nancy Sinatra Cover] (2019)
The last is a punk rock song from The Flowers, a band from Scotland which only released a handful of songs. After just two singles the band dissolved...
Yet, they managed to produce this spectacular song with very provocative lyrics - about a boy who got a date with a girl but "couldn't stay hard". 🤣
It is believed the story was real and happened to the vocalist of the band... I leave you the lyrics below.
The Flowers - (Life) After Dark (Alternative Version, 1979)
“Slipped into my bluejeans / Put on my casual jacket / Glossed my lips with cola flavour / My mind with media power / While dancing at the disco / With my handbag at my feet / I met a boy called Jerry / Whose dancing was a treat (2x)
I fed him Vesta cookies / With a little Hirondelle / We munched on Mr Kiplings / Which I knew would make him tell / He said he really liked me / And did I take the pill / I sprayed myself with Charlie / And got ready for the kill
Slipped into my bluejeans / Put on my casual jacket / Glossed my lips with cola flavour / My mind with media power / While dancing at the disco / With my handbag at my feet / I met a boy called Jerry / Whose dancing was a treat
I fed him Vesta cookies / With a little Hirondelle / We munched on Mr Kiplings / Which I knew would make him tell / He said he really liked me / And did I take the pill / I sprayed myself with Charlie / And got ready for the kill
He fumbled through my bra strap / While I prayed for whispered nothings / He was working on his technique / While I tried to be a vamp / He tried to be a playboy / And I tried to be a playgirl / But he couldn’t stay hard no / Couldn’t stay hard no… so… put… ABBA… on… instead!!!”
I hope you liked these great songs. See you later!
