This is something cool I stumbled upon, figured it would be fun to share :)
Meet the world's smallest Rubik's cube, developed by Japanese toymaker MegaHouse:
The company came up with the idea for the project sometime in 2020 and started working on it in 2022 and finally came out with an aluminum cube that's 0.19 inches (about 0.5 cm) per side with a weight of just 0.33grams!
It's so small it's pretty much unsolvable without a pair of tweezers 😄
As for the price... If you think being smaller also means cheaper think again!
Apparently their presale comes with a steep tag of 777.777 Yen. That's just shy of 5.200 usd. There's probably something symbolic in the price, I guess related to the Japanese culture but I am too lazy and old to look it up.
The price may sound expensive but you can rest assured that you will be indeed getting the smallest to exist Rubik's cube as the record has been already verified Guinness. Plus, there's a free stand included that reads the “World’s record smallest Rubik’s Cube.” Woah, what a steal!
Once you buy it you can always hope it will become a highly sought collectible that only gains in value with the passage of time... Until someone makes an even smaller cube making this one a worthless piece of crap :)
Apparently the last record holder was in 2016 by British puzzle designer Tony Fisher in with a 5.6-milimeter version. I guess that gives you a few years to dump it 😄
Anyways, this is a related video I found. It shows the world's tiniest (for now) cube and talks a bit about its development. I think.
It is in Japanese with no English subs so eho knows. It could be a hentai review with irrelevant footage for all I know:
Ok, I think I'll close now with a link to the official website if you'd like to get into the presale. Remember. Just 777.777 yens lol 😂
