My most memorable battle of 2024
2024 has been a thrilling year for me as a Splinterlands player with the improving gaming experience and several battles championed. Among these, one battle stood out—a showdown so intense that it kept me in awe and revealing the deeper intricacies of the game. The battle set a benchmark for a successful competitive gaming for me. This battle was more than just a contest of skill; it unraveled great lessons that defines Splinterlands characters. As I reflect on this iconic moment, I'll explore what made it unforgettable and how it impacted my gaming experience.
This battle was drawn last month with a 33 manna cap battle. Each team fielded Six (6) monster units to combat.
See My Team: Underboss Fabino (summoner), Grund, Venari Knifer, Goblin Psychic, Regal Peryton, and Mycelic Morphoid.
See the Enemy Team: Thaddius Brood, Cursed Windeku, Disintegrator, Dhampir Stalker, Silent Sha-vi, Life Sapper, and Carrion Shade.
It was a significant battle which I needed a win to stay on a higher league as loosing would have demoted my rank. Glad, it was a Standard Ruleset battle that affords the player the freedom to deploy all possible techniques to win.
For this fight, my choice of the legendary Underboss Fabino summoner was to utilize it's "inspire" ability that increases the Melee attack of 2 friendly monsters by +2. I needed to up my game with a good attack strategy because I believe nothing happens if we don't make it to happen.
To maximize the boosting ability of the summoner, I needed a warrior monster unit that is naturally powerful and Grund was the best option. Grund is a protector, a champion of the land and people of Praetoria. The hammerbearer for his people.
Grund's double strike allows it to attack twice each round, effectively doubling his damage output. This makes it a better choice for an aggressive battle that requires combating strength. It was an aggressive play style which grund took the centre stage with heavy offensive strikes with his brute force.

I won the Battle and it was a dominating victory. I was grateful to win 140 Glint points, the highest I have earned in a single combat. I also had some fractions of SPS added to the rewards
The Winning Strategy
My strategy of winning the battle was a perfect blend of strategy and brute force. When Underboss Fabino steps into the fray, his ability to boost melee attacks transforms powerhouses like Grund into unstoppable forces. With Fabino’s +2 melee enhancement, Grund’s relentless Double Strike becomes a devastating weapon, capable of turning the tide in any battle.
The duo have become my best combo for tough battles that allow melee attack. The application of the combo of strategy and power cannot be be overstated. Beyond Splinterlands, the strategy teaches that we don't just be strategic, we have to feed in the needed power to be able to achieve our dreams.
The above lessons is very timely as well end 2024 and begin a new year. It is not enough to outline great plans and strategy, we need the discipline of of hardwork and consistency to achieve our goals.
My Splinterlands goals for the new year
As the curtains close on 2024, the stage is set for an exciting 2025. With new expansions, card releases, and gameplay features on the horizon, Splinterlands is poised to reach even greater heights. However, I've got my plans too to be able to maximize the efforts of the game developers and the deciding voices of the gaming community.
First in the plan is to upgrade my deck. My intention is to double the number of cards in my deck, either through several pack openings or through direct market buys. The target would be on summoners with special and double abilities. Boosts from summoners can influence battle outcomes greatly.
For a time, I've been spreading my base with the first level cards. I'll have to upgrade my cards too as I have several of the same in my deck. I'll also be looking out for low manna but great ability cards with good health counts. Doing the above will help me improve my gameplay.
The next goal for the new year would be to stack more SPS. It is obvious that 2025 is the year of crypto. I'm very expectant that SPS could do a 10x price action this time and I can't afford to miss out on that.
I'm looking forward to hitting the 20k SPS stake milestone in 2025 and that would be possible through monthly purchases and staking goals as well as winning more battles in higher Leagues.
I'm very optimistic about 2025 and I'm working towards maximizing every opening opportunity.
