dCity Progress Update #20

Introduction
Good day to everyone, a week had passed in the city and it's time to update the progress of my city and the things that happen in the city. A sudden announcement had made me relook at what I am planning for my city. So let's talk about it and what do I plan to do next.

What is dCity?
The game is a city simulator game based on Hive NFTs where one can create a city the way we want it to be. As players develop and grow their cities, optimization is needed in terms of buildings, city population, the income that the city yields and technological developments. While many aspects of the game can be calculated based on the simulator within the game, there is a portion of randomness in the form of crisis event which can bring different kind of impact to city which affects income or popularity. If you like the original SimCity, I am sure you will like this.

My City
The below screenshot is how my city looks like at this moment, so glad that I am all balanced right now.

Everything is looking nice and fine. Workforce is perfectly balanced with a steady income of SIM daily. While everything looks nice and stable, it is effectively just stagnant without much growth. And this is something that I do not want to keep as status quo, development has to go on to make this small city into a metropolis some day.

New Updates from the Developers
Last post, I shared about some new updates from the developers on a new card Large University Camus and also about tax reduction for building being limited to 1 and also a change in tax reduction rate for law firm.

Today, I will share about some newer updates after the last update.

Firstly, people whom are holding Communal Housing, Luxury Street and Migration Center, there is great news for you as you will be able to claim one Student every 3-4 days.

I have yet to reach such a state in the game to craft these cards but the tax refund and population stats from these are really crazy and with the ability to get student every 3-4 days for just 800 SIM, I think this is just great. You can either see out the student to full adult life or just sell it in the market. Getting student will be so much shorter than that to see a card from Young Citizen all the way to adulthood. Student currently in the market sells for 1500 SIM, claiming one for 800 SIM will net you a profit of 700 SIM which is like a 50% profit.

Next update will be on the suspension of technology discovery so that the developers can rework on it. Instead of what is happening now, discovery now will be more time based and dependent on education level of the player. This part I am not very sure how it works, but from the way it looks, education stat will become important right now. So on top of growing income, in order to progress, citizens or building with education stat should be consider for addition to the city. The only thing right now is if a Research Centre is still needed.

With this change to the technology discovery, citizen cards (Professor, Scientist, Aritst) that carry education most likely will see a boost in their demand. Maybe a good time to get some additional SIM from the market if you have extra education citizens for sale.

Development Plan Revision
Now with these changes, I might want to adopt a balance in terms of citizens type. Though from a fully practical sense, having loads of Economist will allow me to get more income while keep ing the tax reduction going.

However, there are stronger cards as seen above with even bigger amount of tax reduction and should not be neglected. Not only that, education also can bring about some form financial prosperity through technology advancement. So definitely it is a balance and I have to plan them carefully step by step to develop my city.


Current SIM Holdings
At the moment of writing, the current amount of SIM I am holding has reached 192,978 SIM. Manage to sell a couple of Young Citizens to boost up my SIM holdings.

Why Hold SIM?
This is reminder to all that holding SIM (or commonly known as SIM Power) brings about daily liquid hive if one having above 8000 SIM Power. SIM Power is calculated by the from the 30 days average SIM holdings.

With the increase in SIM in my Hive Engine, the 30 day average of my SIM power will continue to increase and then translate to move liquid Hive earning per day. Amount of liquid Hive per day based on current 30 day average is as seen below:

Assuming no increase in Sim Power, I will get 0.93 liquid Hive per month. The numbers continue to increase and building towards the goal I had for using the liquid Hive to fund for Hive Power Up Day as we inch towards a 1 Hive per month from just this earning. At this moment, it look a little too small and insignificant to being able to get 10 Hive per month, however as I continue to grow, one day I know I will reach there.

Closing
Many exciting things are coming to dCity and I like how this challenges my brain to think harder and also to improve my adaptability. And definitely it is great to see developers of the game continuously work on improving the game mechanics and also make it more realistic to enhance player experience.
