Greetings to all, Brawl had just completed a few hours ago and I would like to bring to you on how my guild did for the brawl, individually how each of the match went and the thoughts behind how I do up my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets. With the latest win calculation method for brawls, participation by guild members is the key now to boost the winning chance of brawls by 50%. Entering the brawl itself is already securing almost a 50% win as we will clock in a win as long opponent did not take part in the fray.
Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is good for me because now that I play in modern for my daily battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this particular fray, I will get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I've been battling and trying to accumulate Glint so that I can more Rebellion Soul Bound cards into my collection which should come in handy for the matches. Let's get right on to the battles.
Brawl 1

Selection: | Wands Out, Lost Legendaries and Even Stevens. This is the match to bring out all the magic attackers you have and showcase them to your opponent. For me, the one that must be in will be Quora as she is always the game changer in almost every match. |
Outcome: | Win! Quora leads the charge, clearing card by card as we march on to victory to secure the first win. |
Brawl 2

Remarks | |
---|---|
Selection: | Weak Magic and Armoured Up. Though seeing this ruleset, I felt I still had to deploy my favourite water lineup with the double martyr so as to be able to bulldoze through. |
Outcome: | Win! A lineup from my opponent that didn't had much resistance and was easily disposed by Oshannus and friends. |
Brawl 3

Remarks | |
---|---|
Selection: | Noxious Fumes, Tis but Scratches and Go the Distance. This combination of ruleset essentially will be a magic and range only matchup. But with a low mana, it gets a little tricky on the selection. I went with Mycelic Slipspawn and Regal Peryton as they had higher health. |
Outcome: | Lose. I've underestimate how timely one can be in this match. It was really down to the last hit which could actually allow it to be a draw, but it didn't swing in my favour and I lost. |
Brawl 4

Remarks | |

Selection: | Aimless. Again a low mana match, not sure why this time round a lot of low mana match. I just try by using Djinn Chwala if able to attain what I need. |
Outcome: | Lose. Oh my, it is such a good play from my opponent. Using a very simple method, I am fully lock in a cycle with Sola Ranjell just tearing me out with ease. |
Brawl 5

Remarks | |
---|---|
Selection: | Aim True, Close Range and Earthquake. I loaded 2 strategies in this match, first is the detonation of a martyr card and next is on protect and repair so as to renew as much armour as I can to keep my lineup safe from the earthquake. |
Outcome: | Win! I had enough armour to keep my lineup alive and claim the win. Opponent had a good idea of healing but without sufficient armour to protect, healer will also fall quickly. |
Guild Final Tally
I am assigned 7 matches this brawl and managed to win 5 out of 7 of the matches (including 2 fleeing opponent). There is also an additional 2 wins due to lack of participation from other guilds. I saw very nice gameplay from my opponent for the matches I lost. Seems like I don't do well for low mana matches.
The guild ended at position 7 moving one notch higher than previous brawl. I am not sure what is happening but I do feel we definitely can do better than where we landed. In terms of wins, I think we are improving but definitely still a far cry from other guilds. We only had 7 frays occupied which is a little undesirable. If you know of players whom want to play brawls but currently not in a guild, do share with me so that I can get them into the guild.
Closing
This consistent low position that we finish each brawl is worrying, if you have a shiny collection and able to commit to the brawls, we ask for you to join us and win brawls together as a guild. We are getting better in our participation already and getting better brawl rewards. Do check us out in the PIZZA discord and check with the guild officers to gain entry to the guild.
See you at the next brawl report!
