Introduction
Good evening to all, hope you are doing alright and the weekend has been amazing for you thus far. Today, I would like to be discussing on dCrops and my experience playing it. While I did not actively discuss about dCrops, I have been passively playing the game due to me having some dCrops NFTs. Another reason why I decided to do a post is because today the founder of dCrops @scriptkitty has announced about dCrops starter packs which will make it so much easier for players to get into the game proper.
What is dCRops?
Dcrops is an NFT-based farming game created and developed on Hive Blockchain. On Dcrops, the player's role is a farming entrepreneur who has control over your farm, where you may grow a variety of crops.
The basic premise of the game is to plant seeds on vacant land, then wait for crops to mature before harvesting them. But the game had already evolved since it started, it is no longer a farm and wait kind of a situation but there is increased interaction in things like crafting etc.
Where Am I Right Now for dCRops?
I got into the game through event on Hive Pizza discord (more information can be found at the bottom of the post) hosted by the Pizza Boss @thebeardflex. During the event, there were AMA where information of the game on what is it about and some of the special events that are happening for the game. And towards the end of the event, there will be pack opening and giveaways. During such events, while I did not get the best prizes from the giveaways, I do NFTs to help me start the game. The most fun part of the giveaway was the LAND chant.
The reason being that, in order for you to start doing something on dCrops you 2 basic things going, one of it is land and the other is seed. Conceptually very simple, to get something planted, you will need land and what to plant will be the seed you have. See will experience cooldown periods (can only be used every 45 days) to regenerate for the next planting. And the duration of cool down is essentially the time to come back to the same season. Each season last for 15 days so after 45 days, you will be back at the same season. One also need to remember that most of the seeds are season specific, hence you can only plant them in the corresponding season.

So with some understanding on the seeds, I will share on my farmlands:
This is how my farm is being lined up right now. No crops are on the land because I have harvested all I needed for this season.
In terms of seeds, my weakest season will be Spring and Summer with only 5 seeds each and unable to fully fill up my farm spots Time to dive into the market and top up my Spring and Summer seeds.
Starter Packs: Great for Onboarding People to Play dCrops
Each pack will contain a set of 5 NFTs (more NFTs to be added to starter packs for additional functions of the game, if bought earlier, new NFTs will be made up to early buyers).
The NFTs will be Soul Bound. I think this is a really fantastic initiative to help people kick start their farming career and get used to farming. Each pack cost $5 and land is only limited to the first 2 packs. These packs are meant as starters so once you get a steady stream of income, you can purchase regular cards to grow your assets.
Thoughts and Closing
With this new starter pack, I am hoping to see more people onboarded for the game. Playing dCrops for a while had been interesting thus far, I have to admit, I didn't spend sufficient time in it to learn about the crafting mechanics etc. At this moment I am a pure farmer, just sow and harvest each season.
