This weekend, @outlinez and I visited our old friend in the Strandzha village of Drachevo.
In addition to having a great time in his newly built house in the village, we had a wonderful walk in the surroundings of Drachevo. We found mushrooms, crocuses, hawthorn and reached the river Fakiyska.
Our friend has been wanting to take us for a walk for a long time, and since he also likes to collect mushrooms, we would combine the walk with that as well.
First we headed west from the village. The road led to a wooded area, followed by extensive meadows.
There was a beautiful view of the village.
Here, we saw the first purple crocuses.
The further into the meadow we went, the more crocusses we found.
Purple, small and delicate - we met them alone or in tufts.
We also found the first mushrooms. There were three of them and they were quite large.
Our friend put his hand next to them to see their size.
We kept walking and looking for mushrooms but didn't find much. We found only two more small.
All around it was full of bushes covered in bright red hawthorn.
In the middle of the meadow, beautiful trees stood out and cast a pleasant shade.
We continued the walk, only this time we headed south. Our friend was going to take us to the Fakiyska river.
We entered the forest. Trees with large trunks and spreading branches provided deep shade. It was full of nettles.
In one of the places the river had dried up.
We headed to the other place where we saw the river.
There were tall reeds all around, and the river itself, as our friend says, had receded quite a bit because of the drought.
The river ran around the forest and it was such a beautiful sight.
