A few days ago, my friends and I did a great three-day hike in the Teteven region of Stara Planina. Today I will tell you about the first day of this trip, where we started from the village of Ribaritsa choosing the route around the Kostina River.

Our final destination was Benkovski hut, which is built at 1540m. altitude.

The road started with asphalt and gradually turned into a rocky path. Already at the beginning of the route, dozens of campers could be seen around the river.

On the way we met beautiful horses.

It was a real treat all the time to enjoy the beautiful banks of the river and the dozens of water jumps and rock formations.

We reached a bridge and a section from where we took a steep path.

At first, the incline was not very steep, but gradually it got steeper.

The forest was so beautiful and alluring and we couldn't stop admiring it:

Waterfalls cascading down the rocks.

Mighty trees with mosses and hollows.

So much geranium and so much fern:

After the climb we went out into a meadow and there we saw the hut.

The hut is a two-story building and was built in 1932.

It is very well maintained, the authentic atmosphere has been preserved and we felt very pleasant and cozy there.

The food that the huts prepared was also very tasty.

In the late afternoon, my friends and I decided to take a walk around the area.

In addition to a pleasant walk with amazing views from above, we also enjoyed the sunset.

While we were enjoying the sunset, it suddenly became very cold and we had to quickly go back to the hut.
