The Wednesday walk today is from Black Sea village - Varvara.
The village is small and far from the big city, but it is known for some of the most beautiful rocky beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast.
Since it is November and summer has long passed, the village is quite calm.
The houses and streets are quiet, but interesting decorations can be seen on the fences - quite often made with marine elements such as mussels, seashells and driftwood.
In some yards you can see hammocks, in others greenhouses, which suggests that there are people there during this season.
There are yards with interesting wooden buildings.
Along the street I see a bicycle painted in purple with a basket of dried flowers. It is placed as a decoration for a parking lot.
One of the hotels - Zen Hotel is painted with large colorful mandalas.
It was interesting to learn where the name of the village comes from: In ancient times, Thracian tribes lived in this place, who often attacked the neighboring town (Ahtopol). The inhabitants of Ahtopol called them barbarians, and that is where the name of the village comes from.

The church "St. Barbara" is located in the center of the village.
In its courtyard there is a large stone fountain from which clear water flowed.
The courtyard in front of the church was full of flower pots.
Continuing to walk through the streets of the village, оn the grass I see abandoned elements and a particularly interestingly painted cart on which it says "Forbidden Music".
The village is a suitable starting point for several interesting routes in Strandzha Mountain that can be visited. Thanks to the tourist association "Nasam-natam", there are already information boards, signs and markings placed near these places: Dardanelles and Mekite Skali (more information about them in my previous post ) and Papyisko Dere, Chukarya locality, Papiya shelter - which I plan to visit someday.
