I think this is the first time that I upload content in this community, but I would really like to show you an architectural, artistic and cultural jewel of my city, Valencia, Venezuela, it is the Municipal Theatre, which is full of details and certainly is a gift to the eye in the middle of the historic centre.
Creo que esta es la primera vez que subo contenido en esta comunidad, pero de verdad me gustaría mostrarles una joya arquitectónica, artística y cultural de mi ciudad, Valencia, Venezuela, se trata del Teatro Municipal, el cual está lleno de detalles y ciertamente es un regalo para la vista en medio del casco histórico.
This theatre has been in the city since 1894 although I have known about it since the 20th century, I don't remember the exact date when I first went, I just know that since I saw it I fell in love at first sight with how beautiful it is, as it looks like a beautiful 19th century French style mansion, and it is something that is due to the French influence of its design. A friend of my sister-in-law's (my wife's sister) friend has worked here all her life, so she always gets us free tickets (complimentary passes) to see plays or concerts, but what I remember most fondly are my youngest daughter's classical ballet recitals.
Este teatro ha estado en la ciudad desde 1894 aunque desde luego yo lo conozco desde el siglo XX, no recuerdo la fecha exacta en la que fui por primera vez, solo sé que desde que lo vi me enamoré a primera vista de lo hermoso que es, ya que parece una preciosa mansión de estilo francés del siglo XIX, y es algo que que se debe a la influencia francesa de su diseño. Un amigo de mi cuñada (la hermana de mi esposa) ha trabajado aquí toda su vida, así que siempre nos consigue boletos gratis (pases de cortesía) para ver las obras de teatro o conciertos, pero lo que recuerdo con más cariño son los recitales de ballet clásico de mi hija menor.
This is the back of the building. Behind one of those vans that are parked there is the stage, and actually the inside of the theatre, that is, the stage area as such, is very small compared to the dimensions of the building. By the way, when there are performances and my sister-in-law's friend gets the chance, he takes us through that door so that we can meet some celebrity, in fact last year we had the opportunity to meet Mimí Lazo, a wonderful actress from my country, who was on tour with her monologue ‘El aplauso va por dentro’ (The applause goes inside).
Esta es la parte trasera del edificio. Detrás de una de esas camionetas que están estacionadas allí, está el escenario, y es que en realidad el interior del teatro, es decir, la zona del escenario como tal, es muy pequeña en comparación con las dimensiones del edificio. Por cierto, cuando hay funciones y el amigo de mi cuñada consigue la oportunidad nos conduce por esa puerta para que podamos conocer a alguna celebridad, de hecho el año pasado tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer a Mimí Lazo, una maravillosa actriz de mi país, quien estaba de gira con su monologo "El aplauso va por dentro"
About a couple of years ago, they built this go around the whole building, I like it because it's beautiful and in harmony with the style of the theatre.
Hace un par de años aproximadamente construyeron esta vaya que rodea todo el edificio, me gusta porque es hermosa y va en armonía con el estilo del teatro
I love the details of the doors, with those arched frames and the grilles with the initials of the TM (Municipal Theatre) building, which I think give it an elegant and sober touch.
Me encantan los detalles de las puertas, con esos marcos de arco y las rejas que tienen las iniciales del edificio TM (Teatro municipal) pienso que le dan un toque elegante y sobrio.
Recently they built a boulevard next to the theatre, they also installed a small kiosk where they sell coffee, tea and desserts, my wife and I come here from time to time, especially on weekends there are recreational activities in this place, the last one was an evening to remember the 80's, it was great.
Recientemente construyeron un boulevard junto al teatro, también instalaron un pequeño kiosko donde venden café, te y postres, mi esposa y yo venimos de ves en cuando, ya que sobre todo los fines de semana hay actividades recreativas en este lugar, la última fue una velada para recordar los años 80, fue genial.
That day there was a graduation ceremony, but I took the opportunity when the ceremony was over and all the attendees left to talk to Pen, my sister-in-law's friend, and he kindly as always, let me in to take some photos of the interior. I love that staircase in the foyer, I remember on one occasion when my daughter had a ballet recital, she was beautiful dressed in a lilac tutu simulating an orchid as she was going to dance ‘The Waltz of the Flowers’ and then her aunt took a picture of her right up there, but she keeps the picture.
Ese día había un acto de graduación, pero yo aproveché cuando la ceremonia terminó y salieron todos los asistentes para hablar con Pen, el amigo de mi cuñada, y él amablemente como siempre, me dejó entrar para tomar algunas fotos del interior. Amo esa escalera del vestíbulo, recuerdo que en una ocasión en que mi hija tenía un recital de ballet, estaba hermosa vestida con un tutú lila que simulaba una orquídea ya que iba a bailar "El vals de las flores" y entonces su tía le tomó una foto justo ahí arriba, pero ella conserva la foto.
The picture looks very big but the dimensions of this place are not really that big, but I love the smell of it, I don't know, whenever I come in here I always get a nice woody smell, and it's very peaceful when it's not so crowded, but of course there are ghost stories, especially in the dressing rooms (according to Pen).
El fotografía se ve muy grande pero realmente las dimensiones de este lugar no son tan grandes, pero amo el olor que tiene, no sé, siempre que entro aquí percibo un agradable olor a madera, y además se siente mucha paz cuando no hay tanta gente, aunque desde luego que hay historias de fantasmas, sobre todo en los camerinos (según lo que ha contado Pen)
That statue of Nelson Mandela is new, at least I had never seen it before, maybe I didn't know it because I hadn't been here for a long time, I think since we saw the play ‘El aplauso va por dentro’ (The applause goes inside).
Esa estatua de Nelson Mandela es nueva, al menos yo nunca la había visto antes, tal vez no lo sabía porque yo tenía mucho tiempo sin ir a este lugar, creo que desde que vimos la obra "El aplauso va por dentro"
As far as I can see there are many posters with all the events coming up, I am sure my eldest daughter will want to come to see the Maná tribute concert, while I want to come to see the tribute to Luis Miguel, Cristian Castro and Alejandro Fernández. My wife on the other hand wants to come to see the play The Little Prince.
Según veo hay muchos carteles con todos los eventos que están por venir, estoy seguro de que mi hija mayor querrá venir a ver el concierto tributo a la banda Maná, mientras que yo quiero venir a ver el tributo a Luis Miguel, Cristian Castro y Alejandro Fernández. Mi esposa en cambio quiere venir a ver la obra El Principito
This beautiful place also brings back beautiful memories of when my daughter was very young, she was about 4 years old and was a fan of a children's singer called Juan Corazón, then my wife and I brought her to this theatre to see him, she was amazed, you could see the happiness on her little face, I also remember that outside there were street vendors selling expensive felt hearts, but one of my wife's sisters (who is very skilled with handicrafts made one for my daughter).
Este bello lugar me trae además bellos recuerdos de cuando mi hija era muy pequeña, tenía unos 4 años y era fan de un cantante infantil llamado Juan Corazón, entonces mi esposa y yo la trajimos a este teatro a verlo, estaba maravillada, se notaba la felicidad en su carita, además recuerdo que en el exterior había vendedores ambulantes vendiendo corazones de fieltro carísimos, pero una de las hermanas de mi esposa (que es muy hábil con las manualidades hizo uno ara mi hija)
I enjoyed seeing this place again which, as I told you, besides being an invaluable jewel of our culture and art, has been a meeting place for friends and family since the end of the 19th century until today. Thank you very much for reading my publication. Blessings to all!
