My first Smart LED. How does it work? Is it worth?

in #hive-12156611 days ago

Was sagt ihr dazu? Habt ihr schon eine Smart LED getestet?

Philips, whose lighting division was spun off into Signify in 2016, currently offers two smart LED systems that are compatible with standard LEDs and light bulb sockets. Philips Hue and Philips Wiz.

Philips Hue is more expensive, while the Wiz LEDs are much cheaper. I got a cheap 100W Wiz LED, which is currently available for around EUR 16-18.

In contrast, the Hue LEDs cost 50-70 euros each, which can quickly add up to hundreds of euros if you want to equip an entire chandelier with smart LEDs, for example, and with Hue you also need a base station. However, the Hue LEDs can be operated via the base station or with a remote control.

The cheaper Wiz LEDs work via a smartphone app and you need Wi-Fi, which shouldn't be a problem these days.

First you have to connect the Wiz LED to the smartphone app, which is done via Bluetooth. The LED is then controlled via WLAN and the app.

It should also be noted that there are two versions of the Wiz LEDs. Dimmable, which only light up white, and colored (full color), which also support colors.

This brings us to the biggest advantages of smart LEDs. You can dim them via app! Set the color temperature and choose the color.

And there are even a few funny color animations and you can even control the LED remotely via the Internet if you log in to Wiz and want to.

Incidentally, the LED remembers the last setting if you switch it off normally (not via the app), you then have to switch it on twice in quick succession to activate the last configuration. If you only switch it on once, it lights up (cold) white, not in the last setting.

I think the Philips Wiz LEDs are an inexpensive way to transform an existing lamp into an atmospheric smart lamp.

What do you think? Have you already a smart LED at home?

pretty sure it is more expensive than an ordinary bulb. id rather choose the ordinary LED.

Cool, Sollte ich auch mal testen :-)

I don't have any smart LEDs. I just turn on the lights manually and it has worked out fine for me.

This will be for a nightclub or a company because what's the point in a house?

I guess this is for concerts…

I wonder if people really buy these things
Must be expensive!

I have LEDs giving white light

I don't have it but technology is really trying 😁

I'm getting a little old for these technical gadgets. My son's playing with it. He's got some smart LEDs in his room. But only he knows the details.

I don't know what I will be doing with all those lights, but for those who would be needing it, I think it's nice.

I don't have one but I sure would, if I could afford them.
