43.75% Profit in 4 Days With @splinterlands Promo Cards While SPS Outperform The Market

in #spt11 days ago

The past few weeks has been a good time for @splinterlands and it was good to see continuous additions to the game that expanded what you could do with the game. I have not looked into what specific cause triggered SPS to do quite well even on the days $BTC was not having a good time. All of this is happening before New Player Experience is fully implemented. What is even better is that the DAO has reserved some funds to peruse an exchange listing on a Tier 1 CEX such as Binance.

SPS Over The Last Month

We have been at a far better shape. We are down by over 50% compared to an year ago. What matter is the trajectory and how we are beating the market. SPS trading happen on DEXs and a few centralized exchanges with moderate to low amounts of trading volume. Pay close attention to how much of a buy/sell order would require to change the price by 2%

Answer My Poll

SPS stake can now be used to vote for polls. Earlier, one had to create a DAO Proposal to get the community to vote with their SPS stake. The best part is that @peakd developers have made it possible to add many complex parameters to the voting and this system can be used by any HIVE DAPP. We are not in a zero sum game!

High Prices Are Not Bad

The first thing I thought after seeing the prices was that they are far too expensive. Most of the comments I have seen agree with what I have to say. This problem arise because many of us want to buy these amazing Cards with very useful Abilities; yet we lack the resources to do so after experiencing the harsh bear market. Even SPS is only 76.5% up from All Time Low at the moment of writing.

50,000 DEC Per BCX

3,000 DEC Per BCX

30 VOUCHERs Per BCX

There is no upper limit to how many of these Promo Cards can enter circulation. Their supply will be limited by how much money players and investors are willing to spend on them. If these Cards were affordable, many of them will flood to the market and there will be a relative oversupply of Cards with very unique and powerful Abilities. We would have seen another Chaos Legion like relative oversupply if these Promo Cards were made affordable.

A Use Case for VOUCHERs

Originally VOUCHERs acted as a decentralized whitelist. Joining a Presale required spending VOUCHERs and the only inflation came from staking SPS. This was a great way to make sure community gets easy access to Presales above some random speculators. As the circulating supply of VOUCHERs increased, they end up being one more extra Token to use in the game. The fix that was voted for by SPS DAO was to make VOUCHERs soulbound and create a shop with special items.

The only reason I can think of to not buy Mana Warden is waiting for an even better use of VOUCHERs in the future. Eventually there will be more Promo Cards made for the "Exclusive" shop where only those who are long term investors of the game get to participate*.

The One Way Transfer of VOUCHERs

The reason for the asterisk above is the circulating supply of VOUCHERs on HIVE-Engine that can be bought by anyone to get themselves their own Mana Warden. Once these VOUCHERs are transferred to the game, they become soulbound.

First Battle With Mana Warden

Rebellion Conflicts and Mage Wagons

Conflicts is the best Airdrop method I have seen in any game. It was part of Lore and made Tokenomic improvements to the game. @splinterlands team is far ahead of many projects in cryptosphere. I have gained a few Cards through the simple act of staking my Rebellion Cards on a Mage Wagon.

The problem I face now is having to spend DEC (which I don't have at the moment) to buy at least one more Mage Wagon. VOUCHERs lost many of its use cases forcing to create DEC burning whenever players can afford it.

Without spending more DEC, I won't be able to use the Cards I bought to become eligible for more Airdrop chances. Mana Warden Cards I have will not add much to the Airdrop chances even if I did buy a Mage Wagon. Therefore I'm going to take this investment slow.

Rebellion Promo Card Prices Evolution

What you are looking at above is the price list from 4 days ago when Mana Warden was first made available to the players. What you will see below are the current prices.

43.75% Profit in 4 Days

That is a very good ROI for any investment. 3 out of 5 Promo Cards went up in price over the last four days. Mana Warden is the only Card to achieve this feat wile increasing its supply. All of this was done in a time where NFT are almost ignored and overlooked. We are getting close to turning the tide. Keep in mind that Land 2.0 is going to be a massive update when it launch. There are many new upgrades getting refined behind the scenes.

Happy Gaming! Happy Investing!

These are some nice profits and I am glad to see that also $SPS gets some value. With the latest tumultuous times in the game probably about a month or so I have been quite absent, but reading your post brings me some motivation to get back in the game. Let's see if it is worth it, time wise.

Best of Luck getting back into the game! The best parts have not even released yet. It is not fun to wait this long and I wish the team will be able to make more money and hire more developers to deliver the promises fast.

Initially, I didn't want to buy the Mana Warden because I didn't have enough Vouchers to max it out. But then I realized (well, to be honest I heard somewhere) that their new ability is available from level 1. I hadn't noticed that. That's a pretty neat ability to have, even if you have Mana Warden at level 1. But I did bring it to level 2. If I had a lot more Vouchers, I would have brought it high enough until it picked up Impede, but I might need more Vouchers in the future.
