MY GRATITUDE -- Day 2 From Fabric to Fulfillment

in #hive-17826518 days ago

Hello my wonderful people and welcome to day 2 of my 2024 gratitude series. Please do well to go through day 1 event on my blog if you had missed it. So today, I will be reflecting on my sewing skill that I'm grateful for and it impact on my life

Sewing is a passion that threads the soul and creates beauty. Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak when you enter place.
Right from childhood, I was always excited each time I received a new Christmas dress. I had always wished I get to receive those clothes often but since it wasn't that possible I made up my mind to learn how to make beautiful dress so I can get to rock it to church, birthday parties, and other events. The joy that comes when you get to stand out in a group of children looking all cute with all shades of beauty cannot be compared to any other. This and more motivated me to go learn how to make beautiful dress.

Interestingly, we had new a neighbor that was a seamstress and I made it a duty to always go to her place and watch her sew and do all the manipulation to create a beautiful piece of dress. I told her about my plans to learn sewing and she promised to show me the basics till I finish my secondary school. From my frequent visit to her place, I was able to learn the basics like ironing, balancing of cup on bust cuy and before she left our neighborhood I had made my first high waist skirt and cap. After my secondary school education, my dad registered me in a sewing class where I did exceptionally great and gained the love of my tutor. I followed fashion designer on all social media platforms and made YouTube videos my friend. At exactly two weeks at my fashion school I made my first skirt and blouse, a gown and an off shoulder blouse.

However, six months into my training I received my admission letter into the university and my sewing training came to an abrupt end. But the most important thing is I had gained so much knowledge and was so good at my job because I learnt from one of the best. My sister has always been my first and number one model and she gave me most of her cloths to make for her and I always delivery a nice job.

Soon I got patronage from people outside my family and I always do my best to have a client who is satisfied with the dress she gets at the end. Miss Christina saw one of the dress I made for my birthday and asked me to recreate it for her. I did my best to deliver the job with a little adjustment to suit the taste of the client. She love her dress so much whiich made her recommend me to her friends.

Shout out to client that bring other clients. Miss Christina is one of them. I was recommended to Miss Mary and since then I have made more than three dress for Mary.

Most importantly I make sure to make beautiful dress for my birthday every year and next year is not going to be an exception.
The fact that I am good at making beautiful dress for my customers gives me so much satisfaction and the money I get for the job helps me a lot with my bills. Again I am grateful that I have been able to achieve my children dreams.

Thank you for stopping by my blog
See you on day 3
