Good day, everyone and splinterlands community, Today, we’ll explore strategies for using Suidae Shaman in specific rule sets. Utilizing Suidae Shaman effectively can be challenging, as its abilities heavily depend on rule sets such as High Five, Four’s Crowd, and Wands Out, particularly in high mana cap battles.
Suidae Shaman is a rare Earth Splinter riftwatchers card equipped with the following abilities:
- Recharge: Deals its damage to a target three times but only activates every other round.
- Giant Killer: Inflicts double damage on targets that cost 10 or more mana.
- Rust: Reduces the armor of all opponents by 2.

Let’s jump into the battle in the Modern format at high-tier levels, competing in Diamond and Champion leagues using my Splinterlands scholar account. While my card collection may be limited, the cards I have are still effective and capable of securing victories in some matches!. To improve your chances of winning, I recommend familiarizing yourself with powerful abilities and considering renting stronger cards to enhance your lineup.
My line-up
Summoner: Immortalis
- I selected this summoner based on the rule sets in play: Fire & Regret, which reflects 50% of ranged damage to the attacker; Four’s Crowd, allowing only a maximum of four units to be deployed; and Beefcakes, where only units with 5 or more health can be used. Given these conditions, especially Fire & Regret, I anticipate that my opponent will likely prioritize melee or magic-based damage.
Immortalis is an excellent choice for countering magic-heavy teams due to the Void ability it provides to all allied units, reducing incoming magic damage. Additionally, its Shatter ability ensures that when armor is hit, it is destroyed, offering a significant advantage against armored opponents.
And of course, I chose the Earth Splinter for its strong magic units, building my lineup primarily around magic attackers to maximize synergy with Immortalis.
First Position (tank): Arkemis the Bear
- Arkmemis the Bear is the best tank and damage dealer in neutral splinter, this gives it the versatility of all battles useful in every rule set given. Its high-level stats and abilities make it a better combo as a tank. Protect, Halving, Forcefield, and Enrage with stats of 4 melee damage, 4 speed, and 12 health.
Second Position (Magic Damage Dealer): Suidae Shaman
- I deployed this unit because of its powerful abilities making it a great damage dealer of my team composition. Recharge, Giantkiller, and Rust with stats of 3 magic damage, 3 speed, 9 health. Recharge and Giantkiller abilities made this unit a magic dealer triple the 3 magic damage to its target plus twice damage the giant killer if the target is 10 or more mana. A total of 10 magic damage and if the target has void ability it only deals 5 magic damage and not 10 or more mana units. If the target is 10 or more without void, it would be a total of 18 magic damage.
Third Position (Support): Goblin Psychic
- A magic support of my team that has useful abilities. It has the abilities of Tank Heal, Affliction, Silence, and Dispel with stats of 2 magic damage, 1 speed, and 7 health. Healing and Silence is a great combo for this unit since heals my Arkmemis the Bear and hopefully survives most of the tanks per round and reduces the opponent's magic damage by 1.
Fourth Position (Taunt Backline Tank): Mycelic Slipspawn
- Adding a second tank with Immortalis void-ability would be a decent tank if the opponent prioratize on using magic damage. It has abilities of Taunt, Forcefield, and Slow with stats of 3 magic damage, 3 speed, and 12 health.
Analyzing the Battle
My lineup, built around Immortalis, is a great combo to the rule sets (Fire & Regret, Four’s Crowd, and Beefcakes) and excels through a well-balanced synergy of roles and abilities. Immortalis’ Void counters magic-heavy teams, while Shatter breaks down armored opponents. The team avoids ranged units to mitigate the drawbacks of Fire & Regret, focusing instead on high-stat units with versatile abilities. Arkemis the Bear leads as a durable tank, supported by Goblin Psychic with Tank Heal and Silence, while Suidae Shaman delivers devastating magic damage with Recharge and Giant Killer, amplified by Beefcakes’ high-mana meta. Mycelic Slipspawn provides additional protection with Taunt and Void, ensuring the backline remains safe.
The opponent employed Possibilus the Wise as their summoner, strategically leveraging the Water Splinter with a lineup featuring Arkemis the Bear, Coastal Sentry, Runemancer Kye, and Wave Brood. Their setup was designed to maximize the summoner’s abilities, particularly Reach and Stampede, enabling Coastal Sentry to attack from the second position and capitalize on chain attacks. However, this strategy was countered by my team’s use of Arkemis the Bear as the frontline tank, whose Forcefield ability reduced Coastal Sentry’s damage output to just 1 per hit, neutralizing its offensive potential. This limitation disrupted their plan, while my team’s defensive and offensive synergy flourished.
The match outcome highlighted the effectiveness of my carefully well-constructed strategy. By correctly or lucky predicting the opponent’s focus on melee and magic damage, I chose Immortalis as my summoner to counter their strengths with Void and Shatter. My lineup’s important unit, Suidae Shaman, acted as the main magic damage dealer, capitalizing on the rule sets and delivering devastating blows with its Recharge and Giant Killer abilities. Supporting roles like Goblin Psychic with Tank Heal and Silence, alongside Mycelic Slipspawn protecting Taunt, further strengthened my team’s resilience. This well-rounded battle analysis, complemented by the rule set advantages and my summoner choice ultimately led to a decisive victory.
