Continuing with my saga, today we have the stampede rule, I think it's really cool, and I've seen matches with one card killing an entire team š it was really cool to see, it's also one of the oldest rules in the game, the match was for the silver league for the modern format as always, let's go to the post o/.
š STAMPEDE š
Rule | Description |
STAMPEDE | Trample (After using a melee attack to defeat a unit, performs another melee attack against the unit in the next position) can trigger multiple times if the trampled unit is destroyed |
Stampede is a simple rule that only changes the effect of the trample ability so that it can be activated unlimitedly as long as it fulfills the trigger of killing a creature with its melee attack, i.e. if it goes out killing it will only stop when the game ends š, to make good use of this rule you should use a unit with the Trample Ability such as Grund, DiemonShark, Disintegrator and Desert Dragon or the summoners Possibilus The Wise and Lorkus, these summoners together with melee units that can attack from anywhere make an excellent combo in this rule.
My strategy is always to position a unit with the trample ability in the team, and protect it with buffs or by pulling attacks using a unit with taunt, thus leaving the tank free to attack, an example of cheap moves I use is DiemonShark with Wavebrood or Grund with Mycelic Slipspawn, thus making the unit with trample last much longer on the front line, I always try to boost the melee damage with inspire to further increase the chances of trampling.
I've listed some of the skills I like to use the most in this rule.
Best Skills
Abilities | Nome | Description |
| Demoralize | Good chance of units with melee damage appearing to take advantage of the trample, which will reduce their damage a little. |
| Inspire | Excellent skill for when you are going to use a melee unit, it is great in this rule if combined with a unit with Trample. |
| Protect | This ability is always welcome, especially in this rule where units may appear wanting to take advantage of unlimited trample. |
| Rust | This is an excellent skill for removing those annoying little pieces of armor from your opponent, making the physical damage go completely into your opponent's life. |
| Trample | Essential if you want to take advantage of the Stampede rule buff, as this rule only affects this skill š. |
āļø My Team āļø
A match with 38 mana and only the Stampede rule, so I started by focusing on taking advantage of the bonus in the trample skill and positioned the Grund, because it was the best unit I had for this rule at my disposal he has a strong attack but does not have a good defense, so I placed the Mycelic Slipspawn to pull the great part of the damage making my tank last longer on the front line, Then I chose to use a magic combo, as I had excellent supports like Queen Mycelia and Sprit Hoarder, both of which will help the Slipspawn with triage, then I put two DPS that will be incredible with Obsidian's bonus.
Card | LineUP |
| Summoner : Excellent summoner for teams with magic damage, further enhancing these attributes. |
| Tank :This one is going to be the star of the match, it has excellent damage and the skills trample and double attack, in other words, a damage machine, it is a bit fragile if left unprotected it will be killed quickly, that's why I put a unit with taunt on the back line to leave it free to attack. |
| Off-Tank: Positioned to complete the team, it has good but random damage, but can gain value due to its ability to increase HP according to the damage caused. |
| Suport: One of the best cards in terms of support, in addition to the excellent armor bonus for the entire team, it can also heal the back line, which is almost always present in my teams. |
| Suport : Another excellent support, besides being cheap, it can heal the backline by helping Mycelic Slipspawn, it can remove some buffs from the opponent and it also increases the chance of enemies missing an attack. |
| DPS: Excellent DPS who attacks safely due to his camouflage, still manages to gain a good amount of Max HP until he reaches the front line and has a powerful poison in his arsenal. |
| Suport: The one responsible for holding all the opponent's damage, her taunt will help Grund by leaving him free to hit, the second ability is very effective if a Big Monster appears š¤£, in addition, she will receive healing from two units and a nice armor bonus. |
š¤The Battle š¤
Analyzing the match: Both players used the same summoner, but my opponent has a more mixed team in terms of damage than mine and won't take advantage of the bonus from the Stampede rule. Also, my Grund will attack freely for at least two turns, dealing a lot of damage, especially if Mycelic Slipspawn can withstand the first turn's burst of damage.
Round 1 - The match got off to a hectic start, my Grund managed to activate the trample by killing the Xenith Monk, but missed two attacks š¤£, almost at the end Doctor Blight knocked out Regal Peryton, ending the first round, my Mycelic Slipspawn managed to hold off the opponent's momentum and stays alive, my team now has a good advantage.
Round 2 - Almost at the beginning of the round, Grund managed to run over 3 cards by making 5 attacks in a single turn, he annihilated the Goblin Pyschic, Venari Scout and Uraeues, he also injured the powerful Runimancer Florre, soon after she was hit by the magic attacks, the Madcap Magus gave the last hit granting me the victory.
š Conclusion š
My strategy worked perfectly and the free attacking Grund could take out an entire team and the game only didn't end faster because at the start he missed two attacks, even so the Grund knocked out 4 opposing units in two turns, Mycelic Slipspawn did his job and managed to hold out for at least one round thanks to the supports who did their job well, both DPS were discreet but complemented the Grund's monstrous damage.
This rule is a lot of fun, seeing cards running over everyone in front of you is very cool, it's actually a very easy rule to play, and you even have the option of not taking advantage of its bonus, since it's not that decisive, but every bonus always helps in something, I think it doesn't hurt to bring a unit with Trample for this rule, preferably a very strong one like Grund and DiemonShark, or better Possibilus The Wise for the whole team to run over š.
