I haven't written anything for a while because all my free time is devoted to studying at the university. While working on various assignments, essays, it occurred to me that I could publish them on a blog. If you're reading these lines, you've just come across one of them :-)

Technology and communication in today's world.

Introduction:
The world we live in is constantly accelerating, and we can owe this phenomenon to technological advances coupled with global connectivity. If, for example, a volcano were to awaken in the remotest part of Oceania, we would probably have this news on the evening news by now. Modern means of telecommunication form an integral part of our lives, and it is in this context that the subject of technology and communication in today's world fascinates me immensely. I am happy to share my thoughts and insights on this interesting area.

The main part
Thanks to technological advancements and data transfer around the world, the world itself has accelerated tremendously, we can see this change right on our computers, where connection speeds are reaching multiples of what we were experiencing just a few years ago.
These technological innovations are opening the door to new possibilities that are fundamentally changing the way we interact with media such as music, movies, games, and news. We no longer need to store them locally, instead preferring platforms that allow us to stream content such as Netflix, Anchor, Apple-podcast or Odyssee.
In the automotive sector, modern technology is bringing further revolutionary changes. Today's vehicles have satellite internet connectivity so that their firmware (control unit, navigation system, changes to safety assistants) can be automatically updated, ensuring they are constantly upgraded and adapted to new standards.
In the area of in-car navigation, the use of a super-fast 5G network enables precise tracking of the vehicle's position to within a few centimetres. This advancement contributes to smoother and safer traffic, where navigation systems are able to react quickly and reliably to changes in traffic and road situations.
In modern medicine we have robots that are controlled by humans on the other side of the continent, an example is the Slovak medical center in Banská bystrica. Under the leadership of MUDr. Balazs, Php His quote from the center's website „Robotic-assisted surgery is the highest level of minimally invasive surgical treatment for many diseases, especially cancers in the abdominal, thoracic and oral cavities.

Next, I must mention cryptocurrencies. Thanks to blockchain technology, we are able to indelibly store the data of each transaction and operate the system with minimal or even no fees. In this way, we would be able to pay for a ticket on public transport, for example, by paying individually for every minute of the journey, and we would not have to buy a day ticket. Furthermore, we have the ability to mediate financial transactions and money transfers around the world in seconds and with minimal fees.
Let us take the example of the current functioning of the system. Imagine an Argentine who emigrates to the US and wants to send money to his family back in Argentina. He would currently have to visit a branch of Western Union, a special bank dedicated to money transfers. This bank would transfer his money from the US branch to the branch in Argentina. However, this bank's margins on such transfers can be up to 40% of the amount transferred. This option is many times the only one available to people working abroad.

Now, I could also mention a few negative aspects that modern telecommunication technologies bring us. These are the overall complexity of the world that is opening up to us. Media such as X and Telegram provide information so quickly and without control to the Slovak operating RvR. (The Broadcasting and Retransmission Council is a state institute for controlling the media). I think and regularly encounter citizens who cannot tell the difference between truthful news and information that is not intended to factually inform, but rather to gain as large an audience as possible for the purpose of advertising, financial enrichment or a political manifesto with the support of that audience.

As an example, I can mention the hoaxes presented on the channels of the Main News, Slobodný vysielač or "TV" Slovan. They concern, for example, the coronavirus, certain political acts such as the arrests of the former Minister of the Interior by the SMER-SD party, or the distortion of recordings that were temporarily heard by NAKA investigators. These media refer to themselves as an alternative, which escapes me... I don't understand how anything can be an alternative to the media, whose job description is to report factual events in a relevant and unbiased manner. But I guess I'm too far removed from media and telecommunications.

Conclusion:
What to conclude ?
Technology and communication brings us new opportunities to change the world around us, but with opportunities comes responsibility for how we handle them.
Technology prolongs our lives, makes them safer, and brings us freedom, both financial and informational. But they can also take a lot away from us. It all depends on how we are able to relate to technology, to treat it with moderation.
