Hello folks, David Hurley here on New Year's Eve 2024. In this video and blog post I'm going to break out my first beer of the day and have a look at where I am at the moment with my hive layer 1 and 2 crypto tokens and what my goals are for those tokens in 2025.
Here's the video:
The State Of Play - The My 2025 Goals
Here's where I am and where I want to get to by this time next year, DV:
Crypto Asset | 31st December 2024 | 31st December 2025 |
---|---|---|
HIVE Power | 7,631 | 10,000 |
Hive Backed Dollar (HBD) | 5,066 | 12,000 |
BBH | 10,265 | 20,000 |
BBHO staked | 1,346 | 20,000 |
CTPSB | 581 | 800 |
LEO staked | 3,506 | 10,000 |
ALIVE / ALIVEM pool | 24 shares (477 ALIVE) | 500 shares (approx. 10,000 ALIVE) |
LEN / LENM pool | 216 shares (1,284 LEN) | 500 shares (approx. 3,000 LEN) |
SPS / SwapHive pool | 100 shares (772 SPS) | 1,300 shares (approx. 10,000 SPS) |
ChessBrothersPro delegation | 2,372 HP | 3,500 HP |
WorldMappin delegation | 751 HP | 1,000 HP |
I plan to focus much more on liquidity pools in 2025.
So far, I have
- 477 ALIVE tokens in the ALIVE-ALIVEM pool. I want to boost that to 10,000 ALIVE tokens in the pool.
- 1,284 LEN in the LEN-LENM pool. I want to grow it to 3,000 LEN.
- 772 SPS in a pool with Swap.Hive. I want to boost the SPS side to 10,000 tokens.
Liquidity pools are interesting because the balance between the two tokens in the pool can shift at any time. For example, with SPS/Swap.Hive, I’m finding that people are buying SPS from the pool, which increases my Swap.Hive side. That’s fine by me, as I want both SPS and Swap.Hive. One attraction of liquidity pools is that they can be liquidated quickly, allowing you to sell tokens if they appreciate significantly in value.
I want to increase my delegations to a couple of projects.
One is Chess Brothers Pro, run by some guys in South America who enjoy chess, hanging out in parks, and working out. I’m not sure if they drink beer, but what’s not to like about playing chess in the park? These bad boys pay out liquid Hive to their delegators once a week.
Another is World Mapping Delegation. When you post a travel blog, you can pin it onto the world map, which is a bit like Google Maps. They pay out their delegation every day, so I earn small amounts of Hive Power daily from this project, and would like to boost the amount I earn every day.
2025 Stretch Goal: HBD
Looking at my bigger goals, my mega goal is to boost my Hive BackedDollar position from 5,000 (approximately $5,000) to 12,000. This will get me 10% of the way toward my "freedom ladder," which I blogged about a couple of years ago:
https://hive.blog/hive-119826/@hirohurl/the-hbd-ladder-to-freedom
Back then, I calculated that at 20% per annum (which HBD was paying at the time), you’d need 120,000 HBD to earn $2,000 a month in interest. Now, at 15%, it’s $1,500 a month for the same amount, which is still not to be sniffed at, so it would be nice to reach 10% of the goal in 2025.
So, there we go, folks - big targets for 2025 on the Hive blockchain. What are your Hive goals for 2025? Let us know in the comments, below. I hope you have a Happy New Year and all the best with your online projects in 2025, the Year of the Snake!
Cheers!
David Hurley
