What would happen if the grasshopper went extinct?

Welcoming in my blog...

Hello Hiveans...

Grasshopper! Everyone must know him often, especially in this day and age, all levels of human beings, both children, adults and others, are very familiar with this animal figure. This situation occurs because it is often very easy to find anywhere, whether in forests, rural areas and even in urban areas, it is also found in coastal areas, as long as the area has any kind of plants.

It is estimated by historians, and has been confirmed by a team of entomologists, that he has been present on this earth for a long time, and there are some opinions of experts saying that they also existed in ancient times, but what distinguishes their shape or posture looks slightly different, with the posture today.

This information is known from the results of a new discovery in the form of a grasshopper skeleton who was having sex, but unfortunately the couple died, the stiff body is estimated to be hundreds of millions of years old. See more clearly you can read in this article.

When we investigate further and enter into the deep realm of it, it can be said that the existence of grasshoppers in our environment, of course, has a certain reason for them, so they still exist to this day.

The main thing that can be seen is their ability to adapt to their chosen location, both locusts that dominate forest areas, hilly areas, rural areas, urban areas, and even in coastal areas.

In simple terms it can be said that the grasshopper itself is able to live in every area except in certain areas, namely on a continent that we both know, namely the continent of Antarctica.

The inability of adaptation by the grasshopper itself in that area is due to the unusual air temperature in which his body responds because the Antarctic continent has very cold temperatures. Only certain animals or creatures are able to survive in that area, but cannot adapt to other neutral areas.

So what does it mean to survive to this day?

Here it can be summarized that, the ability to survive to date is, in the sense of having the potential for food that exists in each area, meaning that grasshoppers will be present in every condition and location if the area has food or green plants although in different types, then in support with a temperature that can be neutralized by his body.

If in the previous year, which was about hundreds of millions of years ago, of course in that era the diverse feed and conditions conducive to that era also had the potential mentioned above.

What's special today, whether it's seen in terms of food or otherwise, is certainly very beneficial for the grasshopper civilization itself, maybe hundreds of years in the future (if the earth still exists), the story is almost the same as today's story.

And today they are still seen in every habitat both in my area and in yours. Although there is information that some species have become extinct or have been rarely seen in recent years. Its presence in a certain location, such as rice fields or on plants being cultivated, is considered a pest or a source of failure of a performance in the form of harvesting. However, its presence in certain areas is very beneficial for a habitat or as an ecosystem for a habitat.

Actually the presence is very useful for other life, like a group of birds, birds will use it as food, while birds will also be hunted by other predators, this continues to a high level of ecosystem and eventually returns to a low level, namely plants, and and so on, when that happens, a life develops in a habitat, and grasshoppers take part in completing an ecosystem.

If farmers want to disappear from their gardens, it is different from animals that need their bodies in the hope of many grasshoppers in their habitat. The point is that its presence in a habitat has the hope of going back and forth between need and refusal.

Then what if the grasshopper is lost in a habitat

If it is described in general it will result in the loss of a consumer group, for example like this.

Number Animal group Status in habitat
1 Predatory animals such as tigers, lions and every animal that often hunts snakes, bobcats, eagles and so on Consumer I
2 Eagle, cat, weasel and so on Consumer II
3 Birds Consumer III
4 Grasshopper Producer

If we consider grasshoppers as initial producers, not green plants, then the presence of grasshoppers becomes food for birds or poultry that like grasshoppers, then with the presence of these birds as food for snakes, cats, and other equal animals, they (grasshoppers) will automatically become food soft or hunted by other beasts. Eventually the cycle will continue naturally. Under certain circumstances, humans will be the rulers or first-order consumers, while green plants will become producers, so grasshoppers will be on a different level of consumers.

This cycle or grafik, is often said or termed a pyramid that stands according to its respective levels. But in the end, humans are the rulers at every level, and the ecosystem relay is controlled by humans and the main producers are green plants.

If viewed in this context, it can be concluded that, the presence of grasshoppers in a habitat is very necessary but in a balanced number, no more or less, thus developing and living a habitat.

If we go back to the initial arrangement then the loss of a group is very little but the benefits received by each level will be very useful, then what is the conclusion? The answer lies in each of us, depending on the point of view of all of us in understanding and observing a situation.

The grasshoppers that you see in this post, are a small part of the territory, although their numbers are always decreasing due to the influence of their predatory needs, it can be seen that their numbers are always balanced, no more or less, because the birth rate and death rate are very suitable for the condition of a habitat.

According to the author's experience, the grasshopper population that is often seen is a lot, namely on a land in the form of rice fields, when the rice has started to show itself then the grasshoppers will appear by themselves, then at that time the birds that eat the grasshoppers will also feast in the rice fields habitat, but here the birds -Other birds also eat the grain that the farmer wants to harvest.

That's an ecosystem that's happening today and days gone by. So the conclusion is that the presence of grasshoppers is considered important and there is also the presence of grasshoppers that is not beneficial, depending on the level mentioned above.

For me, seeing this situation, it is very natural and should happen, because the more friendly nature is, the more comfortable humans are, of course the existence of each level, both producers and consumers, can increase natural resources and in the end it is humans who take all the benefits, as long as the graph of the presence of each producers and consumers are balanced and stable.

How about you?
