Yes, an Neutral Density filter (ND filter) will help even out the brightness and give much better color of the rocks, beach, water and sky. I like using a ND 15 in those bright conditions.

The Mavic 2 also yes can do the spiral. It's called "Helix" and buried in the "Quickshots" menu, along with Circle, Rocket, Asteroid, Boomerang (where it goes out and comes back) and some others.

These are really useful at times, be sure to check them out! Just be sure you're high enough or have enough side space to avoid obstacles with these! You can also combine them with active track to circle a moving subject, etc.

Ahh I see. That's going to be an all @oscurity intelligent flight mode, not DJI smart mode lol. All in the thumbs that one is.
