Up round about five again this morning and only a half an hour short on sleep. Although I dragged a little bit, it wasn’t too bad today. Went to bed thinking about where I was stuck on the website and woke up thinking about it as well, which is a good sign that there’s some motivation back! 👍

I did the usual morning stuff, but honestly cut it somewhat short and started working at the computer almost first thing. Can’t say that I wasn’t frustrated (nearly to the edge of throwing my hands up), but I think I found a workaround and I did have the major breakthrough of my first successful chain interaction!!! 🥳

I got really stuck with the clash between Hive being in JavaScript and the backend being in PHP. It kept giving me a syntax error (which sounds like it may have been protecting me from JS injection attack and I would have needed to escape something somewhere) and I never did quite fix that, but I moved the final chain call to the front end JavaScript and got it going.

It’s only just first steps, but it’s functional…the user can input an account name and it will console log the account object. 👍💪 So far only reading, next step is writing to the chain, but that means most of the ambiguity that was causing me frustration has been cleared up. I properly enqueued the script and the CDN is loading properly. I can call the Hive functions from my plug-in JavaScript and pass the data back and forth, and my call syntax is correct.

Once I get writing worked out, then I can start building out the proper functionality of the whole site. Baby steps, but that was a big one!

Otherwise, just the usual routine in the morning. Spent some time chatting, watched a couple videos, shifted H-E tokens, all that jazz. But, having spent so much time on the computer, I got a fairly late start on my post.

I had errands to run and (it was my intention) to attend #PYPT, so quickly finished up my post, scheduled it to post, and headed out to take care of the errands. That also meant fun times shoveling the driveway out, but a nice neighbor with a pretty powerful blower happened to pass by and was kind enough to give me some help. 😀

The roads weren’t great, but I got there and back without any major incident and snagged some lunch. It was at that point that I should have had the Solairitas Update done and gone over to Discord, but I was not even started on my post and I got overwhelmed and withdrew from reality.

I played Thrill of the Fight yesterday and OMG my arms are sore! There was no way I was going to play anything that required physical motion! I worked a bit on one of the four hundred piece puzzles on Puzzling Places and made some progress with it, but it’s tough and I got bored with it.

For some reason, Medal of Honor just wasn’t sparking my interest, so I just quit out for while. Saw a video by Beardo Benjo of a new game released today: UltraWings 2 and it looked like it was pretty fun. I was a little worried that a flight simulator might be rough as far as the motion goes, and I wasn’t wrong.

I played through some of the training missions and unlocked the second plane, but while it is a fun game and demonstrates the capacity of Oculus to deal with a large, open world, Holy Shite! the motion really got to me. I tried to ignore it at first, but after a couple more flights I started to sweat and my stomach started to churn bad, so I had to stop. 😢 I like it and I’m sure I will play it, but probably only in small doses.

Wenche worked from home again today because of the weather and when she finished up she made us steaks and tater tots for dinner and we continued our binge of Workaholics. Only one season left already! 😱

Despite having done some shoveling, I’d been sitting for most of the day again and had a shitton of steps left. I did some marching in place for a while, but honestly got bored and laid down. Cheated at the end there to finish up, but the legitimacy of this streak has long been in question anyway.

Have to say, even though it nearly brought me to tears, it feels really good to have worked on the website and made a significant breakthrough (never mind that all the Unity stuff still lies in front of me 😛)! 😁😎🤓

And again my stated income is only two, and my Shopping Mall got robbed, and yet somehow I got a whopping double digits worth of SIM. Alrighty then! I guess it’s best not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Nothing major going on with Rising Star today, just did a couple more missions. I did notice that my Ego has crept up and I couldn’t find any drunks to blame it on, so I figured my grace period had worn out and I switched over to lessons to get it back to zero.

I was actually caught up with my quests on Splinterlands and worked on today’s in the evening. Was a bit of a mixed bag, and I did get a little frustrated, but ended up more or less in the same spot in Gold II.

I got Snipe quest for today, but wasn’t having it. Switched out and got Earth instead, much better! I got it done in Gold II but pretty good rewards for today! Got a couple rare, but even better all cards:

Vouchers were still somewhat down today, so still no moves there, but I am kinda’ itching to refill my liquid HIVE and splurge on some more tokens…patience is a virtue. Also not to much change in the value of SPS (except down again), so just staked my drop as usual.

I am so glad to have progressed to the point where I leave the coding for the coders and I work on conducting things rather than button pushing. Still, I feel your pain.

I too missed #pypt again and miss the peeps there. I have to work that back into my routine and look forward to catching up!
