[Got teaching today, but was up about six, so although I've gotten a decent start on this post, I'm only looking at an hour left before I have to get ready for work...feeling a little crunched.]
Tonight was a little better than last night. Got to sleep around quarter to ten and was only up twice during the night. Got up and moved out to the couch around the usual time, two or so, and then slept until quarter of seven for a solid nine hours on the night. Didn't drag to bad today and even got a couple small things done. 👍
Got on with the morning routine and did all the usual curation, check emails, check Discord pings (I won ten of the Pizza giveaways this week 🤑), got working on my post, and checked the crypto markets.
Wut, wut?!?! Bitcoin up five percent and HIVE up fifteen percent? Whoa! Pushing back up to fifty cents there...again, I'm obviously happy that number go up, but I don't believe it actually has anything to do with any progress or development on chain, it's not organic in that sense, just speculators speculating.
Spent the rest of the morning, as usual, working on my post and once I was done and got it published I hit a bit of a miniwall...not tired so much as just lacking motivation to do anything. Still, tried to snap out of it and did a bit of cleaning up; took care of the dishes in the sink, emptied the dishwasher, took out the garbage, and got the mail. Pretty mundane stuff, but better than just laying around.
Still been thinking about the Mythix forging mechanic and I'm starting to feel like I need to actually write it all down, getting close to solid. There's still some details to work out, but I think it's a good compromise between being completely at the mercy of drop rates set by the devs (forced rarity) and players being able to create however many of any given card they want.
I'd like for the rarity to be completely determined by the decisions of the players (limited by their time and/or money - which is inherently finite), but then why is any card more valuable than another, what stops people from just creating a bunch of one card, and why would you buy any off the market if you can just create it yourself at will? I think I've answered all these questions with the current model.
I've never been much of a memelord, so in the past, not been very tempted to join any meme contests, however, I think my entry speaks for itself:
Not bad I suppose, pretty meta for my first ever attempt at a meme. Maybe I'll win something. 🤞

Otherwise, I suppose today was a day for new games. I'd known about Upland for a while and kinda' looked at it and didn't really see the point, but it was the only WombPlay game left that had a chance of earning an NFT for playing, so I decided to give it a shot.
Nice that by downloading and getting started I earned like fifteen thousand WomBucks, but it is kind of as I expected...the "game" is: pay us to buy land, and the challenge NFT is earned by spending their token (which you can only get by buying from them) in game. I have a plot, and it is earning UPX, but the cheapest plot I found was like 3888 UPX and I'm "earning" fifty a month, so it really is nothing but pay to play. 🤬
After messing around with that for a while and preparing a bit for teaching tomorrow, I decided to jump into VR. I do still have a couple that I haven't finished (like Tale of Onigoro and Sairento), but I felt like seeing if there were any new games out to try...was feeling an arcade shooter and I got lucky! There was a new one out, Drop Dead: The Cabin.
Drop Dead: Dual Strike was pretty fun (though it got repetitive after a while and I got bored with it) and it seemed like this was significant enough change from the first game to warrant being released as an entirely new game rather than an expansion, so I thought it would be worth a go.
It's fun, but definitely hard. It is quite different from the original. Instead of being on rails going through levels, it's a roguelike survival deal...kind of COD Zombies but you progress between sessions. Gave it a couple go throughs on my own and then gave the co-op a shot. I got paired with a dude who knew what he was doing and we made it nearly to the end, but my battery died and it booted me out. 🤬😭
That was pretty good timing, though, and I only had like half an hour or so before Wenche was set to be home from work. She made us an omelet and toast for dinner and we watched some Dog Whisperer for a while.
I was seriously short on my steps for the day and I put on some Nile Red and did some laps around the house. Full disclosure, I did not finish legitimately, still had a good thousand to shake at the end. 😡 But, I got it done and kept the "streak" alive.
[Nice. Thirteen hundred words and ten minutes to spare. 💪]
Splinterlands:
Only got a dollar sixty for my Splinterlands rental income today, down a good twenty cents from yesterday. I really wish this would pick back up again since it's my only source of liquid these days since I've started just madly staking everything.
I paid up my prepay balance yesterday, so all set there for a bit, and while I did debate with myself for a good minute, I ended up staking it all again anyway.
dShitty:
Yes, dShitty is doing significantly better than it was (I mean, at least I'm earning something these days), but then I make the mistake of actually looking at the stats. By thier own fucking numbers I should be at seven-hundred something per day:
Nothing to say about that other than: "that's pretty shitty."
RS:
Ran a couple missions on Rising Star today but not much else interesting happening here...kinda' thought about moving the Starbits I've got in-game for a more accurate balance, but then I'd just have to move them back out, so meh.
HK:
Speaking of "meh," there's this steaming pile of garbage. Are they still stealing from the DHF to pay their dev's grocery bills? How much "return" has the chain seen from that other than the obligatory "code camp," as if they had any authority on that (blind leading the blind)?
GLX:
Guess it's good that I've gone into hoard mode over here? GLX has lost a good penny or more (like a hundred dollars on that balance 😱). Either way, not selling has cut into my liquid pretty hard...hope I don't get an itch to buy into something.
WOO:
Not much going on with WOO today, just the usual stake and delegation rewards claim, snag the airdrop, and no mining rewards. I am up to about 70k now, though, so should hopefully have enough to upgrade my land and still have some stake left.
