Work was soo brutal today, it didn't seem like it was ever going to end and I found out I had to stay late, oh no I wanted to go to the Legends Day at the horse track, I have been seeing the billboards advertising for it all month. Doug Brown, Chris Christorou and soo many legends were going to be there.
Finally I got to leave work at 2PM.
I walked down there it was pretty cold outside for the last day of June, it didn't seem like summer whatsoever!
I arrived there and saw a big wheel and I approached the spinning wheel that gateway casino had set up for prizes. I decided to give the wheel a spin, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, the music is blaring and the crowd is cheering. I take a deep breath and I saw the colors blur together as it spins faster and faster, I don't think I was suppose to spin it that hard, but oh well. My eyes are glued to the wheel, willing it to land somewhere I wanted it to land. The suspense is killing me.
As the wheel starts to slow down, my heart races even faster. The tension was in the air.
I landed on free merch. I feel a rush of excitement and relief wash over me as I step forward to claim my prize, a tshirt!! I did it, I conquered the spinning wheel of suspense!
After that I walked around, the had all kinds of food trucks like Beavertails and Wicked Witches, but holy, there were pretty expensive, so I didn't get anything from those food trucks.
I walked around some more and I came across something called the Bill Gavin Racing Alliance.
They had a drive to win virtual harness driving thing set up there, so I signed up to give it a whirl, I waited ten minutes, then it was my turn.
As I strapped myself in, I could feel my heart racing again, I have never done anything virtual reality before.
The countdown began, and suddenly transported to the race track teeming with life. The sights and sounds were so vivid like I was actually there.
I pushed myself to go faster, eager to see what challenges lay ahead.
But as I raced towards the finish line. I could see that I was falling behind. The other horses were ahead of me, their movements fluid and precise. I pushed harder, determined to catch up and claim victory.
As I crossed the finish line. I realized that I had come in forth place. I felt a twinge of disappointment, but also a sense of pride. I had pushed myself to the limit and had experienced the thrill of virtual reality horse races.
As I removed the harness and stepped back into the real world. I knew that I would never the adventure I had just experienced.
I was still feeling a little hungry, luckily I found somewhere cheaper than those food trucks. They were selling hot dogs for a fundraiser for a Hospital Foundation.
The hot dog was kind of small, but it was for a good cause.
The place was pretty busy, lots of people drove there!
People were greeting all the Legends, getting their autographs and all that fun stuff.
And now the next race is going to begin, I arrived in time for race number five, I put some money on the number three horse named Just Ask Joe
He was leading most of the race, but than ended up losing, ahhh
Race number six, I put some money on a horse named Halva Hanover, maybee my luck will change this time
But nope Halva didn't up being my lucky horse, Halva lost. Now I'm 0 for 2
Surely it must be my next pick will be a winner, you know what they say, third times a charm, so I put my money on "Rising Dragon"
And Rising Dragon won the race, woot woot I won, then I cashed out and I was about to bet on the next race and someone called me and needed help moving to a new apartment, so I agreed and I left the race tracks to help him out.
