Hello Steve,
Here is another of many posts specifically for you because you had asked me to keep an eye out for happenings here in South America.
Here is one where the nurses and interns of Hospital Garrahan blocked the main street that goes from the government house to the congressional building. It was huge and more peaceful than the other one I just put up.
They want more money, mostly because the money the have in their pockets is becoming more and more worthless by the hour. Interns are not paid at all and doctors make less than $100,000 (less than $347 per month in U.S. dollars).

These workers gathered to express their grievances and they brought a sound system, as most do, to make it loud. Unfortunately, I have seen The President, hop into his helicopter and leave just as things are starting. As usual, they are not interested in what the people want.
I am not out every day, but if I were, I could certainly find one or two 'bolonquis' happening if I did a quick circuit around the city, more if I went out to the surrounding areas. I am also working on uploading video to 3speak.tv (the Hive video platform).
Even the word is messed up - original is quilombo
