Recently, I had a very rewarding experience taking photos for a carpenter friend who is starting to work a lot and wants to show his workshop and the work he has been doing. This friend, aware of my love for photography, asked me if I would like to help him by capturing images of his workshop and his projects. I accepted with enthusiasm, as it seemed to me an excellent opportunity to combine two of my interests: photography and supporting a friend in his endeavor.

The day of the photo shoot, I arrived early to his workshop. It was a space full of tools, wood and projects in different stages of development. The natural light coming in through the windows gave the place a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My friend was excited and a little nervous, as it was the first time someone was going to document his work in this way.

We started the day with a tour of the workshop. My friend showed me some of the pieces he was working on, from furniture to small wooden decorations. Each piece had a story and a purpose, and it was evident the love and dedication he put into his work. As she told me about her projects, I was looking for the best angles and the right lighting to capture the essence of her work.

We decided to start with some photos of the workshop in general. I wanted to capture the atmosphere of the place, as well as the variety of tools and materials my friend uses on a daily basis. I took photos of the shelves full of wood, the carefully organized tools, and the wood dust floating in the air, illuminated by the rays of sunlight coming through the windows. These initial photos would help give context to the more specific images of his work.

Next, we moved on to photographing my friend in action. I wanted to capture not only the final products, but also the process of creation. I took photos as he cut, sanded, and assembled pieces of wood. Every click of the camera captured the concentration and skill with which he worked. My friend showed me some of the machines he uses, such as the table saw and belt sander. I took several photos of him using these tools, highlighting both the precision of his work and the sturdiness of the machines.

As we took the photos, we chatted about his passion for woodworking and his future plans. He told me that he had always enjoyed working with his hands and creating things from scratch. Now that his business was growing, he wanted to share his work with more people through social media. The photos she was taking would be an important part of this strategy, helping her to showcase the quality and detail of her work to a wider audience.

The photo shoot lasted several hours, but the time flew by. We had a lot of fun, laughing and joking as we worked. At the end of the day, we were both tired, but very pleased with the results. My friend was delighted with the photos and grateful for my help. He told me that the images perfectly captured the essence of his work and that he was excited to share them on his social networks.

That night, as I reviewed the photos on my computer, I was very happy with what we had accomplished. Each image reflected not only my friend's talent, but also the passion and effort he puts into each piece he creates. I realized that I had captured more than just photos of a workshop; I had documented a story of dedication and love for woodworking.

Recientemente, tuve una experiencia muy gratificante haciendo fotos para un amigo carpintero que está empezando a trabajar mucho y quiere mostrar su taller y los trabajos que viene realizando. Este amigo, consciente de mi afición por la fotografía, me preguntó si tenía ganas de ayudarlo capturando imágenes de su taller y sus proyectos. Acepté con entusiasmo, ya que me pareció una excelente oportunidad para combinar dos de mis intereses: la fotografía y apoyar a un amigo en su emprendimiento.

El día de la sesión de fotos, llegué temprano a su taller. Era un espacio lleno de herramientas, madera y proyectos en diferentes etapas de desarrollo. La luz natural que entraba por las ventanas daba al lugar un ambiente cálido y acogedor. Mi amigo estaba emocionado y un poco nervioso, ya que era la primera vez que alguien iba a documentar su trabajo de esta manera.

Comenzamos el día con un recorrido por el taller. Mi amigo me mostró algunas de las piezas en las que estaba trabajando, desde muebles hasta pequeñas decoraciones de madera. Cada pieza tenía una historia y un propósito, y era evidente el amor y la dedicación que ponía en su trabajo. Tomé fotos de las estanterías llenas de madera, de las herramientas cuidadosamente organizadas y del polvo de madera que flotaba en el aire, iluminado por los rayos de sol que entraban por las ventanas. Estas fotos iniciales ayudarían a dar contexto a las imágenes más específicas de su trabajo.

Luego, pasamos a fotografiar a mi amigo en acción. Quería capturar no solo los productos finales, sino también el proceso de creación. Tomé fotos mientras él cortaba, lijaba y ensamblaba piezas de madera. Cada clic de la cámara capturaba la concentración y la habilidad con la que trabajaba. Mi amigo me mostró algunas de las máquinas que utiliza, como la sierra de mesa y la lijadora de banda. Tomé varias fotos de él usando estas herramientas, destacando tanto la precisión de su trabajo como la robustez de las máquinas.

Mientras tomábamos las fotos, conversábamos sobre su pasión por la carpintería y sus planes futuros. Me contó que siempre había disfrutado trabajar con las manos y crear cosas desde cero. Ahora que su negocio estaba creciendo, quería compartir su trabajo con más personas a través de las redes sociales. Las fotos que estaba tomando serían una parte importante de esta estrategia, ayudándole a mostrar la calidad y el detalle de su trabajo a un público más amplio.

La sesión de fotos duró varias horas, pero el tiempo pasó volando. Nos divertimos mucho, riendo y bromeando mientras trabajábamos.
