Down a long dirt road, winding down towards a lake, is a beautiful event center and resteraunt nestled close to the mountains. I am already far above elevation compared to back home, but I am not so long away.
Next to the gas fire burning in the old traditional stone fireplace is a canoe shaped bookshelf with faux paddles, and real snowshoes lean against the stone hearth where firewood is piled up.
This cozy spot is a retreat that accommodates various types of events, no doubt weddings in the summertime.
Not just one, but at least 4 deer heads are mounted around the cabin, honoring the animal spirits of this land.
I am going to enjoy my coffee before the three course meal begins. I feel so happy and grateful that I can be here and I don't want to miss it!

This prime rib steak was so good every bite was incredible.
