A chess board that I find most peculiar. Well, I had not seen before a picture of a chess board that was designed for three players to battle each other. And, although I learned that this chess game variation has round boards too, I have to say that I was attracted by the image of the hexagonal board.

In the case of the three-player chess board, it reminded me of something I had seen years ago in a 2014 Anime series: No Game No Life (ノーゲーム・ノーライフ).
In the TV series, in chapters 3 and 4, a very particular chess game battle is presented. Where the rules of classic chess do not apply, and you can see (a moment before the battle ends) that instead of black and white pieces on the board, there is also a third force, the red pieces.

Un tablero de ajedrez que me resulta de lo más peculiar. Pues, no había visto antes una foto de un tablero para jugar ajedrez que estuviera diseñado para tres jugadores que batallaran entre sí. Y, aunque me enteré de que esta variación de juego de ajedrez tiene tableros redondos también, he de decir que me sentí atraído por la imagen del tablero hexagonal.

En el caso del tablero para jugar ajedrez de tres personas, me recordó una cosa que había visto hace años en una serie de Animé de 2014: No Game No Life (ノーゲーム・ノーライフ).
En la serie de TV, en los capítulos 3 y 4, se presenta una batalla de juego de ajedrez muy particular. En donde las reglas del ajedrez clásico no se aplican, y se puede ver (un momento antes de que termine la batalla) como en lugar de piezas blancas y negras en el tablero, hay también una tercera fuerza, las piezas rojas.

Esa serie de TV solamente realizó una temporada al aire, a pesar de que las novelas ligeras que narraban la historia se han seguido publicando, de hecho, la última edición del volumen 12 de la colección se publicó en febrero de 2023.

En un juego de tres bandos enfrentados, teóricamente, todos son enemigos y cada movimiento debe constatar que, si bien no se debilite la postura propia, se pueda destruir al ejército de piezas enemigas. Aunque en la realidad, puede pasar que dos participantes del juego se alíen para eliminar a un tercer participante.
