Because the choice was given, I figure I'll take advantage of the moment. Occasionally, projects get me excited. Years ago, it was SteemIt that got me fired up enough to lose sleep. Lately, it's the potential greatness of the game PsyberX and the possibilities it will bring to the Hive community.
Communities are great within Hive because your interaction is paid back in kind. The more active you are, the more people typically want to interact with you, and both of your bottom lines go up. I was never one for discord and basically shunned it for a very long time. Then, in early December, I caught wind of the game PsyberX. I was content writing within the POB community since I joined Hive in February 2021. I'd call it my Hive home. The VYB community is essentially the same group with a different name. I haven't been too active there lately because when I learned about PsyberX in December, I got hooked. I found they had a discord channel and I had to ask some questions without taking up all the room in the comments section. Discord ( https://discord.gg/U48S6Ng7XB ) seemed like the best place to go for such an onset of queries.
I found out real fast that this ragtag bunch of game developers and game enthusiasts were fun to be around. I learned the ins and outs of the game and started investing "heavily" into the token LVL. I'm now a LVL millionaire and still growing my 'hoard.' The value for me, though, is in the group of folks running/playing in the discord group. We all have a mindset toward making the best game Hive has ever experienced, well beyond anything Splinterlands has created, though I must give credit where credit is due. SL has brought tons of folks to Hive and that has caused the value of Hive to go up. My opinion (and not financial advice) is that PsyberX will do the same, and likely 10 fold. I know, I know...SL has 300K active users every day. That means I think PsyberX will bring in 3M each day...on average? Yes, I do. But I'm in for the long haul. The developers want to add many games to Hive. If you're not bullish for games, I'd suggest being bullish for Hive. Again, not financial advice, but it's worth seeing what they're up to.
I am a gaming addict. I will not likely play PsyberX. I have been hooked on games before and know my limits. However, I have put my hard earned cashola into the coin behind PsyberX because I believe in what they're doing. Go ahead and look at my wallet to see the amount of Hive I've moved over via beeswap into the Hive engine and you'll see that I'm being straight with you.
Behind this discord group, the POB/VYB community is so much fun. It's easy to prove you have a brain (I think it is anyway) and it is nice getting rewards for proving it. Folks like onealfa, scholaris, taskmaster, proofofbrainio, funshee, rentmoney, calumam, etc, etc, etc...they're a fun group to curate with. I purposely did not put the @ in front of their names because they don't need to be called to this post by me. They'll probably find it on their own.
And while I'm at it, I also really like the callout groups like pizza, lolz, beer, wine, pgm, luv, alive, and so on. They really light up the comments section. I don't really go to any of their front ends (for the ones who have one), but I have always felt appreciated and luv'd by folks who use the callouts. I think it builds the community even more.
Another great thing I love about Hive in general is the ability to read perspectives from across the world. I enjoy seeing what our folks in Nigeria, Venezuela, New Zealand, Australia, Russia, Brazil, England, Germany, and many others have to share. Their lives and lifestyles are all so unique because of the rules and regulations over their countries. The Hive truly is a worldwide community where we can all relate on the most basic human emotions and elevate everyone. I see more kindness on the Hive community than I EVER found in the facebook communities.
Sending a big hug and lots of LUV to all my peeps out there in Hive-land! This is why I've brought several family members here and many more to come, too. A big shoutout to those who taught me about liquidity pools and the Hive Engine (I didn't even know what the HE was until I'd been around for 2-3 months...blew my mind)!
