Conscious Music you have probably never heard of | #88 | Tara Putra - Driven by Dub

Quirky but relatable, outright odd but somehow familiar, Tara Putra's music is a class of its own. When the harmony trumpets come out I swear I can see a middle America desert scape in my mind's eye.

Inexplicably catchy to the ear and still not quite like anything else I heard, this album has been with me for almost ten years now! Originally released as a freebie on the mighty www.ektoplazm.com online label for psychedelic music, it still hits a nerve today.

Driven by Dub creates an atmosphere, not quite spooky but stopping intentionally short of it somehow: mysterious and enigmatic.

If you dig the sound of dusty organs, mexican trumpet duos, paired with steadily-paced analog beats and a touch of melodic mysticiscm, you really ought to give this album a try. Their sound has evolved quite a bit since this release of in 2015, but seeing how music has been declining in quality there definitely is place for classics like this in this series.

If 9 years qualifies as classic already, ahaha.
