Thinking About Moving Back To Ireland.

in #ctp2 years ago

I know you guys might be thinking....What another moving post, I thought you just moved. Yes I just moved in to a new house in Mexico with @misslasvegas and her family.

Like she mentioned on her last post, me and my girlfriend (her daughter) sort of sprung the news on her a few weeks ago that we were thinking of moving back. Nothing was set in stone though and we were still just thinking about it.

We originally were thinking maybe we would aim to go back in September if flights were cheap and that way we would have more time to think on stuff and sort out flights and what we would do.

We have been looking at flights and trying to find when the best time is to get cheap flights. We have found some pretty good deals for July but maybe they are too close to even be possible. Why might it not be possible? Well our beloved dog Misty has issues with her heart or lungs (we are currently trying to find out what is wrong ) and we don’t know if she would be fit to fly and if she is, it will still be hard to book a last minute flight as there’s a lot more that goes into booking her on a plane with us.

She looks a bit scruffy in this, but this is Misty:

Misty 2.JPG Photos are mine.

Originally we weren’t too worried about going sooner than later but now @misslasvegas is having issues with some stuff back in Ireland, if we went sooner maybe we could help to resolve these issues. To read her post on the issues she's facing, click here. We’ve also come to the conclusion that if we go sooner it’ll be better as it won’t be so cold than if we went in September or later.

Why would we want to move back to Ireland from such a lovely place that is Playa Del Carmen, Mexico?

I’ll start off with saying that if it wasn’t for @misslasvegas I would have never had the opportunity to come here to Mexico when I did. I am very thankful for all she’s given me and when I am in a better position to return her kindness that will be the first thing that I do.

Mexico is such a wonderful place and a completely different world from where I grew up and highly disliked. Coming here has definitely made me grow as a person in many ways and even though I knew there was a lot more to the world than the small little town I grew up in, after being in a place like that for so long, I would forget how different it could actually be. I will definitely miss it so much when I leave but for now I think it might be the right thing to do. Now I know what to expect when I come back in the future.

We will miss the heat and the beautiful Cenotes. We will miss the warm welcoming feeling of the people here in Mexico. The exotic fruit, the Mexican food. The diversity of people. The feeling of being your true self and people don’t seem to care because they are so used to diversity. We will miss being able to go pick a coconut off a tree. We will miss my girlfriends’ family for the time we are away. We will miss so much.

So why are we thinking of going back to Ireland if I disliked it so much when I was there. There are a few different aspects to it:

  • I have some unfinished medical stuff to sort out which would be possible to eventually sort here but is just so much harder without the healthcare help I had in Ireland.

  • My girlfriend and I need our own lives and our own space.

  • It will be easier to get a good, steady job so we can afford to live independently and build more for our future together.

  • We feel like our dog Misty will be better off in Ireland, we thought she would get used to the heat here but seems to still struggle a lot. And if she is having heart/lung problems this makes it worse.

  • If we do need treatment for Misty then maybe it would be more manageable to be able to afford it in Ireland (But let's hope for the best).

  • And of course I will get to see my family again, which I am very excited for.

Although Ireland isn't our favourite of places and there’s a lot of things we are not looking forward to and things that will be difficult to deal with. There are also a lot of things that we think we will appreciate more from not having them here. Things like, being able to drive 5 mins and bring our dog for a nice walk through the forest, even if it’s raining (we can’t bring her for a very long walk here as she gets too exhausted).

The quiet country side, we never really liked the country but I think we have grown more of an appreciation for it while being here. Not that I would love to permanently live in the country side but sometimes its nice to have the space and the privacy that comes with it.

I plan to do more things like grow my own vegetable garden, something I never really had a serious thought of doing. I will have better resources there. Obviously there’s good things you can grow here too. But at my family home back in Ireland there was plenty of space to do it. No reason not to really.

We even miss the shops over there, Lidl, Tesco, Aldi, Dunnes (Probably the least but still miss the vegan chicken haha). We always envisioned Walmart and stores like this to be amazing and have so much more than we had, which in some cases they do but here it’s not so great as we thought and it’s still pretty expensive. I know right....daydreaming about going to Lidl haha.

Can’t forget McDonalds, they have so many different vegan places here that they never had where we lived but do you know what we’ve ended up missing and it’s funny really - A veggie burger meal from McDonalds. They just don’t do any vegan options in Mcdonalds here, I haven’t had a McDonalds since I’ve been here. Which is probably a good thing. Stops me eating such crap. We literally talk about, that’s the first thing we are going to eat when we arrive. Of course we plan to eat healthy but the odd time we will have some crap haha.

I guess the saying is right - “You always want what you don’t have”.

If we go back we want to do it a lot differently than before we moved to Mexico, even if we don’t completely love the place we are in we want to appreciate things more and be grateful for what we do have. On the mental health side of things it was a lot harder for us there, but we want to work on it and change our mindset, not let the way other people are, determine the way we feel about ourselves. We always struggled there with the opinions and the way people see things. It’s like they are afraid of difference and we were always a bit different, didn’t want to just fit in to not be the outcast. Which I feel a lot of people where I am from were like, they are afraid of being themselves so just try and fit in. Therefore most people act the same, dress the same, do the same things and there’s no originality. Of course not everyone was like this but in my opinion the majority are.

We just need to remember that if we have confidence in ourselves and don’t let other people affect our self worth than people like this can’t get to us because in the end they don’t really matter and people will have something to say no matter what you do. We need to remember who we are and not let other people’s energy bring us down.

If we move back I think we will initially have to stay with my family which isn’t ideal, but we hope to get a place of our own as soon as we can and hopefully in a better location to where my family’s house is. After all there are so many different places that I still haven't been to in Ireland that we might like a lot more to what we’ve experienced.

Nothing is set in stone. It’s a lot to think about and we need to first find out what is wrong with our dog Misty and go from there. I just hope we find out soon if she is fit to fly, and I hope it’s something we will be able to cure with treatment. Fingers Crossed.

Thank you for reading and have a great day!
Until next time…..

You have good reasons why you are moving to Ireland. Your plan of having and growing your own vegetable garden is a great idea :) I enjoy doing it myself especially when seeing my plants growing healthily :D

Good luck to you on your plans and hope your dog's health will get better soon.

Yes,It will feel a lot more rewarding growing my own plants and probably give me more of an appreciation of the process.
Thank you 🙏

You will find out when you do , good luck :)

The beauty of life, is the fact that it is dynamic, you mentioned nothing is set in stone yet, so best wishes.

Thank you 🙏

You have to do what you think is the best, Think it through and follow your heart. Thanks for sharing.

Dear @camthecreator, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago when the HBD stabilizer proposal rose above it.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work?

Mate I so know what you are going through...foodwise ;)

I just went back to the Netherlands first time in 4 years and I missed so much food that 10 days was not enough but many things tasted better in my mind than in reality. But still so much things I am happy to have tasted again.

My GF was here for those 4 years and she went back to as well and came back with mixed feelings, as she is snot so good with languages and shy she doesn't talk much with the Spanish...for her going back felt really great and she is a bit weiry now. She did not expect to enjoy being back that much.

In your case, sounds like you learned the lessons you needed to learn and the good thing is if you don't like it back in the rain Mexico is only a plane ride away and your gf´s mom is a very cool person (based on the interactions I had with her).

So go follow your heart you´re not burning any bridges.

I know right, It's probably a lot better in my mind. The Netherlands has some really good food though! My GF is dutch and when i went there for the first time a few years back she couldn’t wait to have and show me the food she missed. My favourite was stroopwafels. Love to go back again sometime soon.

Yeh I kinda get how your GF would feel, I've never been very good with languages.

I definitely have learned a lot, and you are so right. Yeh she's pretty cool, thank you for your great words :)

It was a great read very recognizable next time you are in the Netherlands you should try white Tijger Brood with pure Hagelslag from the Albert Heijn brand ;)

Oh man, f you for bringing up our Dutch great bread and hagelslag.. djeez, did you at least take some to Spain? I will come and eat it at your place!

Didn´t bring back any bread but brought 1.2 kg of the good hagelslag and a large chunk of very good dutch cheese !!!

Haha, yeah well the bread needs to be fresh anyway, or frozen and then defrosted works too. I saw hagelslag at lidl last week but it was milk and not the pure one which I love. In Hungary you could buy it but not for bread topping, it was sold as cake decoration, therefore in tiny packages only.

Already tried it haha, that was the first thing my GF told me to try. It's so good!!

A lot to think about so it seems, but I guess you need to follow your heart and do what you desire in the end. Hopefully, your doggie will be fit for travel if you decide to go.

Good luck making the final decision!

Yes a lot, very stressful but we will figure it out. We actually found out today that she is ok to fly, she has other issues but she can still fly so at least we know now and we can start to plan things better.

I guess the saying is right - “You always want what you don’t have”.

Yeah true, I want to live in Ireland as well 😁 even though I've never been there but I've met lots of good Irish "lads" when I was living in the UK, most of them some of the coolest people I ever met. I don't know why or how but I feel there's a strong connection between Romanian and Irish people in understanding and common behavior even though our countries are so far apart. Best of luck with your future endeavors!

Voted on ListNerds!

It's good to hear you had a good experience with the Irish people you’ve met and if you want to move there I hope you get to and that you like it :) Thank you for stopping by and sharing your experience.

Is Ireland the only possibility or did you consider heading north or south of your current location? You are just a step away from some great places, that would be sparking my interest big time. You do know Ireland doesn't have a summer? lol

However, I understand that whatever you do, you sometimes need to take a step backward and build a base. I moved to London from Dublin and it didn't work out and I hop scotched it back to the emerald isle sharpish!

Good luck in your future plans! Peace & Light!

Pretty much yeh, I know i know, dreading the weather, well at first i think a little cold weather wont be too bad, it might actually feel a bit nice but i know i'll quickly hate it and want the sun.

For sure, we know it wont be easy but need to work on building more so we can then go travel and things like that independently, and like I said i have to sort out medical stuff so It will give me time to have it all sorted to not worry about it next time we go travel.

Thank you for stopping by :)

Now I can't stop thinking about the veggie burger meal from Mcdonald's :-)

I see what you mean, it sounds like a sensible idea to go back to Ireland, but life is full of surprises, and it's great that you've had a great time in Mexico. Not just visiting as a holiday but you've actually lived there. I wish I'd had an experience like that. Though I'd probably go crazy without Tesco & Lidl after a while! I'm sure you'll miss real Mexican food when you're back. I hope Misty will be ok flying back. Thank you for sharing the story!

Yes it sure is full of surprises but everything happens for a reason. I feel very lucky to have been given the chance to stay here as long as I have and experience life in Mexico. I'll definitely miss real Mexican food!! It is my favourite food. I'll miss so much but Im sure I'll make my way back sometime :)

Interesting to hear people's perspectives on moving around different countries. Most people are so brainwashed that only their home country is the only option. Glad to hear different perspectives and to think that moving countries is even possible.
!PIZZA

Yes that's true. I've always wanted to travel and see the world.

It is pretty creepy the way everyone is ignoring what is happening to me and still going to Hivefest. Lay the dirty snatches out why dont ya. Fake it all you want creeps, its so obvious the blind eye you are turning. @fyrstikken told me what V2K and RNM was before they turned it on for me. Around that time he introduced me to @roelandp . I still have the emails between myself and @roelandp . This chain is centralized by design and @fyrstikken helped set it all up to fuck everyone, one by one, slowly into my situation. This is no joke you dumb mother fuckers, they shock you to your thoughts..... Hello????? It is in store for everyone you fools and your helping. Voices pulsed in your head and shocks to your thoughts??? Ignore me and help fuck innocent people for life? @roelandp and other top witnesses I know are involved with @fyrstikken.. Wait until people find out you conspired to enslave them with this shit. I am not crazy and you know it. they are doing this shit to me and told me what it mother fucking was BEFORE THEY TURNED IT ON! Your acting like naive children or maybe you are just part of the problem? You look like sociopaths. Everyone should unplug from HIVE until they are caught, .your. celebrating and ignoring my obvious, you look like fools. You know who is doing it....they are trying to kill me with it. The Havana Syndrome is real too you slave trading V2K, RNM enabling fuckers. Arrogantly play ignorant you Creeps, your setting the table for trafficking and total enslavement. I did not know I was circumvented until a year after I was?..People here will be nice until it?s too late. There is no way to stop it once they have you. Grow the fuck up, this is not aliens, gods, celebrities or a medicate-able mental concern. It is 100% electronic and beast as fuck. You do not want this shit. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism ..... https://ecency.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem
