After all of the stuff that happened over the past few weeks, there are one or two visits to look forward to.
Neither one of those are a certainty just yet but there's definitely a possibility that one or the other, or both, will happen.
Let me tell you more about it!

During her visit in March, my sister already announced that she might plan another trip to come and see us here in Mexico in September. This time, however, I did mention that I would have to see if this suited me as well, as I can't just jump and be ready for her visit at her whims, and that even though I work online, I'll have to plan things and get the chance to work ahead so I wouldn't have any losses. It's quite simple: If I don't do the work, I don't earn. This can sometimes be hard to understand for someone who works a job for regular pay. Especially my sister.
Then, when we received the news that Hivefest would be in September, I had to tell her that I definitely wasn't sure now, since it made no sense for her to come to Mexico if we were going to the Netherlands...😆
However, going to Hivefest would mean that I would need a couple of thousand dollars for the trip alone, as well as have my residency papers started here. If I'd go the route of getting a work permit, it would take a few days to sort out but for permanent residency, it takes 3 to 4 weeks, which makes things quite tight. Impossible even because it would also cost me almost 5k, to begin with. That, plus a few thousand for our trip is not going to happen, even IF crypto makes some crazy jumps right now.
If going the work permit route, it would still be a possibility. A tiny one but you know me: I don't give up easily.
I just don't want to have to put my family through me crying all week about missing Hivefest...😆
Anyway, I am giving us going to the Netherlands a 5 to 10% chance. Crazier stuff has happened...
My 'other' sister from another mister
I say 'other' because, of course, @thisismylife is the other woman hahaha.
But the other other sister I am referring to is Michele, my long-time bestie from Singapore.
We met in Singapore a long, long time ago. We were inseparable throughout all of the time I was there. She then visited me back in the Netherlands in 2010, after 13 long years, and we picked up right where we'd left off. Then we met up again in 2019, in Bangkok, when we were at SteemHiveFest.
Anyway, two days ago she called me to ask about where the nearest airport is for us. Then she told me that she was supposed to go to Japan but that they have a rule in place that you can only visit the country if you have a tour.
So she has to cancel that trip. So that's how she got the idea to come here for a visit. YAY!
With this sister it's a bit different. I'll make time for her hahaha. No but she won't come until the end of October or so, so that's sufficient time to prepare, pre-work, etc. etc.
A great distraction!
All in all, I'd be happy about both visits, of course.
Having my sister visit if I can't make it to Hivefest might keep my mind occupied and make me cry less about it LOL.
We had a pretty good time the last time she was here, and although I won't be able to do most touristy things this time, I'm sure we'll find fun things to do that don't require a lot of money.
As for Michele, it's the best surprise that she might visit.
The time-frames between us seeing each other are getting shorter haha. From 13 years to 9 years to 3 years...not bad!
Either way: that's true friendship!
I knew she'd come here eventually, or if all hell breaks loose: we'd see her in Asia, but I didn't expect it to be this quickly. Of course, as we're both getting older, it's a good thing.
Back in Singapore, we made all these plans to move in together if we were both still single in our thirties. Well, that time has long passed...So after this next visit from her, I'll probably announce that we're shacking up together in the next year or two. 😆
I am looking forward to both visits. My sister is my sister. And Michele, well, she's just that special someone that I can hang out with all day, week, and month, without ever getting bored, and on top of that, with my jaw and stomach in pain because of all the laughter.
Great things to look forward to!
