Manifestation: The Power of the Mind - Powers Unleashed

in #ctp2 years ago

It's been a while since I've written a Manifestation post.
Well, it's been a while since I've written anything here lately.
I won't go into the details now. I just wanted to share this moment I had with my youngest son recently because...well, it was amazing and a perfect example of how quickly we can change our mindset. And with that, can literally alter our knowing and being, and how we can do things we weren't able to do before just by changing a little bit of the way we used to think.
It also was a reminder for me, and an eye opener that I desperately needed at that time.

So let's dive into it right away!

Underwater

Self awareness is a great thing. But if this awareness turns into a super power within minutes, it's something amazing. However, if this happens in a child, then we have a unique chance to witness changes in this child that can never be taken from them.

This statement is a bit vague, I know, so I'll get right to it.

A while ago, I spent some time in the pool with my youngest son.
Yes, all parents think their child is special, and this includes me.
My son is a talker and a doer. He walks the talk so to say.
When I say he's a talker, I mean just that.
From the moment he could talk, he's never stopped.
He has amazing ideas, he has entrepreneurship in his blood, and he has a natural curiosity for all things natural. He also still believes in magic, something I try to let him keep for as long as possible. Forever would be great.

That day in the pool, he wanted to see how long he could stay underwater.
He'd dive under, and I'd count, trying to keep it as close to real time by counting 'twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, etc.'
But however many times he tried, he could not get past 24 seconds, which I assured him, was quite good for someone who didn't practice this often, and especially a child.
He didn't seem too convinced.

I told him about a few tricks to prolong his time under water but this would only add one or two seconds to his top time.
He did 19 seconds, then 18, then 21, then 24, and then 18 again.
He wasn't about to give up so we kept this going for quite a while.
I'm pretty sure he was going underwater, while I was counting, at least 30 times.

Frustration

He became increasingly frustrated, and downright angry even.
I told him that he was maybe getting tired so maybe we should take a break.

He had other plans. He asked me what I would do if I were him.
I didn't know.
We then swam for a bit, and again I suggested we'd take a break and try again the next day.
And then I remembered.
Breathing exercises.
Breathing exercises lead by Wim Hof to be exact.
If you've never heard of Wim Hof, you've been missing out.
Please look him up. The guy is amazing! And I'm not just saying that because he's a fellow Dutchie...
You can find his YouTube page here, and his website here.

From Frustration to a Quiet Mind

I told my son that I had an idea.
There was an audio we could listen to in order to help him breathe differently, and I was sure it would help him hold his breath longer.
He was all up for it.
For a moment I thought we'd do the breathing exercises that day, and try again the next day but my son was quite clear: He would do this that same day, and extend his time underwater.
There was no way I was going to talk him out of it!

So we dried ourselves, and went inside where I searched for the right video on YouTube.
All he had to do was be quiet and listen, and follow instructions.
Funny thing because he's never quiet. However, once he sets his mind to something, he will do it.

We listened to Wim's voice, followed his instructions, and then we did it again.
The second time around, the results were better than the first.
This is the exact video I used. Courtesy of Wim Hof.

Later, I found out that he also has a beginners video. But in my son's case, this wasn't needed.

Unleashing your Super Powers in just a short moment

We went back to the pool.
My son was adamant that he'd try to get a better time this time around.
And so he did.

He tried it three times.
The first time he did 45 seconds.

He was still not happy with the results.
I reminded him of the breathing we did earlier, and that he needed to quiet the mind.
The result was a whopping 60 seconds underwater.

But he didn't want to stop just there.
So the third time, he added 7 seconds, with a total of 67 seconds.

I'll share some pictures that I took of him now.
He chose to do a medidation pose. I love it. I personally can't even sit on the pool floor for longer than 2 seconds. He did more than one minute...

Amazing!

All photos were taken with my GoPro Hero10. The bubbles give a nice effect haha.

My little boy, 8 years old, went from being underwater for 24 seconds and coming up out of breath, to being underwater for 67 seconds and ready to take on the world.

He wants to learn how to free-dive next. I know he can do it. He knows it too.

With a little bit of change in the way he breathes, and a different mind-set, he can do all that and more...

Amazing! My boyfriend keeps nagging me about Wim Hof but I hate hearing how that sounds (the exercises) I don't know I just think it sounds stupid lol (sorry!).

It's not that I don't believe in it, I know it works but I feel like a fool doing them. But ok ok, I will take on this post as a reminder that I should just do it and not be stubborn. Not to stay underwater btw, don't care about that honestly but there are other moments where I should do them.

Thanks sis!

I had exactly the same in the beginning. But I started with the advanced one right away and later discovered there's a beginner's version as well.So it felt like a work out, and that's how I see it now. It's good for so many things, not just the lungs.
I mean, Wim himself climbed Mt. Everest on bare feet and in shorts, sits in an ice bath without body temp change, and goes free diving like a pro! I want to be able to do that too haha. I'm just thinking, in these uneasy and uncertain times, I might as well try to bring myself to the next level physically. You never know when it would come in handy!

It´s all in ze mind!

The truth! :)
