Never too old to start racing

in #curangel2 years ago

Eleven years ago, I meet my husband. After the first meeting, I saw so much energy, enthusiasm, and happiness in him, and this energy of his attracted me incredibly. I was never a person who would do adrenaline things, most of the time I preferred to read books and hang out with friends. It was my way of life. I never thought that I would become a person who is attracted to things that get your blood pumping when you do them. That heartbeat, nervousness, and happiness when you learn such things. He is a man who cannot live without adrenaline. Right from the beginning, I realized that I needed something like this by my side. A man who will show me life in a new light. After the first date, he told me that he rides a bike, skates, and is interested in things that were unknown to me. Over time I realized that it would be fun to try mountain biking. After the first few rides, I realized that this was something I would also like to do, so we went to buy me my first mountain bike. During the years of our marriage, we really cycled a lot and went to tracks that were really a big challenge for me, but he always encouraged me and taught me how to properly go down the tracks, how to ride corners, how to jump over the big jumps and how to exercise properly so that I would have power in my hands. But it was all kind of for fun and for my heart. I really enjoyed the ride, especially because I realized that my mind calms down and that I simply don't have time to think about the things that make my life miserable. This adrenaline when you go down the track excites me and makes me strong. Some time ago, we came up with the idea that it might be time for me to start competing. Why not, since I'm still young and this adrenaline relaxes my body and mind. Of course, our parents and a few friends weren't keen on the idea. Why would she risk falls and broken bones at her age? Why? Because I can. That was my answer.

And that's how my first match happened on Saturday. I really couldn't wait to get down the track and see how I would drive in a race for the first time. I didn't hope to win, I just wanted to try and enjoy. The first two rides were absolutely insane. I gave it all and finished it. But those were the qualifications, the final ride was still waiting for me. My husband encouraged me the whole time and his support means so much to me. And then came the final race. I was calm and couldn't wait to ride. The start was great and the first thirty seconds were really amazing, but 50 meters before the end, I missed a turn and had a bad fall, but that didn't stop me, I picked myself up and my bike and rode to the end. My husband was waiting for me at the end of the course, he was so impressed with my ride and despite the fall, he thought I had a great ride. I'm not disappointed, I'm happy that I even dared to do such a thing, even though I don't have a lot of experience with matches and such speed. Just participating means a lot to me.

Since I will not be able to participate in any more matches this year, I have set myself the goal of training hard and participating in more matches next year. I'm not young, but also not old, and I can do this. I have a husband by my side who encourages and teaches me, and his energy inspires me that I can do it too. I can't wait for the next race.

Oh, I forgot to write, despite the fall, I ended in second place. Amazing :))

So yes, you are never too old to pursue your dreams.
