"Happy Valentine's, dahling. Let's go on a date!" the Farmboy said excitedly on waking up this morning. It was already 7:30, one of those days when we stayed in bed longer than usual.
"Hmmmm... with this weather?" I asked. It was drizzling. "What's the weather got to do with us dating?" he joked knowing well that I'm not fond of cold temperatures, let alone wet days. I'd rather be indoors, wrapped warmly and taking a snooze. I could be sewing too!
"Where would we go then?" I teased wanting to see if he had a plan.
"Wherever you want, Ling," he replied. Aha! Could he be playing safe or did he want me to decide what to do and where to go for the day?
Looking him in the eye, it was more of the latter. "I want a pampering - whole body massage, have my nails done, my hair shaved, a cozy dinner, and a drink or two at La Azotea, then a night swim at the beach," I demanded without a hint of a joke. "And oh, I wish to visit the dentist first." I continued.
"Shoot! Whatever you want, let's do them!" he was game.
"Yongi, go get ready!" he summoned our Lil Guy, making him jump up and down, then toward his jersey and collar hanging on the bedroom door. Our poor furry kid got excited.
It was tempting but I chose not to go anywhere. We just returned home to DD yesterday evening and with no sleep the previous night while looking after Mom, nothing was more enticing to me than to spend the day lazily and in my pajamas.
I had a change of heart, however, around late afternoon. By the time this publishes, we will be at K, a new hotel in town recommended by my sister. Let us see how the place treats us tonight. I may share about it one day soon. Until then, here's to a happy, warm, love-filled V-Day!
