Hello my dear community @diyhub, this week I am sharing a very special craft: personalized collars for my cats, made with cardboard and biodegradable materials.
Materials :
. not very thick or heavy cardboard (I used the cardboard cover of a VHS tape)
. scissors
. pen
. Acrylic paint, tempera, colors.
. liquid (or hot) silicone or clear nail polish.
. open holes (failing that, a thick needle)
Elaboration :
Well... despite the materials I was supposed to use, I didn't find any. So I took a rounded shape, I marked it with a ballpoint pen and first I tried an exact one... it wasn't working, it was too big... so it occurred to me to dip the tip of the tip in water. pen and go over and over the entire edge. it was very relaxing!
Then with a glue stick, but it can be any, I joined 2 circles to give them firmness.
Once I joined them I thought "hey they would look nice with colors" and I painted them, I let them dry. Once dry I opened a hole first with a toothpick... it didn't work... so it occurred to me to drill with a needle and insert the tip of the pen to make it bigger. And then my favorite part: pouring liquid silicone on top of them.
I let it rest overnight and in the morning I put these colored plastic safety pins that don't push and I hung them on the necklaces.
I tell you that this experience was somewhat run over, but my cats are super comfortable and remain resistant without being annoying. I highly recommend them for kittens because they are very clean and careful animals when eating and drinking, they will last a long time. I put their names on the front and my phone number on the back.
Until a next opportunity!
