Seeing 2021 Out and 2022 In With Procreate

As the new year approached I was once again playing around with Procreate on my iPad.

First I decided to colour a New Years image. Here’s the time-lapse of that developing:

You’ll see this reappear in the next part.

Then I decided I’d play around with some images:

I started with a moonlight night as the new year arrives in the dead of night:

Now, I live in the snowy north or so I’m told as I look out on the green grass around my house. I’ll add some more snow for that full moon to reflect off.

What’s snow without some snow people to witness the transition of one year to another?

OH Look… there’s Santa making a final pass for 2021

There he goes out the exit

For those who would like to see more of the process here is a time-lapse of the image:

Here’s to a much better 2022 … we hope

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Ha!! Pretty neat. Though, reading the title, got me thinking something else 😆

as only your mind can do LOL

Happy New Year!
I love all the stuff people are doing with Procreate! Hubs just got an iPad this past year and plays with it ALL DAY doing illustrations. After seeing all the cool lettering things one can do with those things, I kinda want one for myself!!
I love the 'loading...' bit! cute.

I've been working on learning lettering layout. I create colouring books and one of my favourite styles is quotes ... being able to create stylish quote layouts will make my books that much nicer.

Not to mention the difference it can make on book covers for journals.

One of my other goals for this year is to get into doing some drawing. I've been doing Zentangle on the iPad so that is a start.

I have always loved making art with words. Zentangle sounds super cool! I love art therapy/meditation! Have fun with that...and thanks for another reason to consider the iPad! ;)

Zentangle is designed for people who think they can't draw to get started using simple lines that build into patterns. Check out zentangle.com for the origin and more information. It is pretty cool. I don't think of it as art therapy/meditation.. it's just a way to learn to put cool patterns together.

ahh. see, to me, anything you can get lost in is meditation/therapy...like repeating patterns! ;)

that is one of the reasons that coloring books with geometric patterns tend to be popular.. repeating patterns

You make it all look too easy! I am feeling creative again and might start to try to dabble again in digital art! Procreate is your software of choice I assume? I might need to explore this program but who knows its a lot trying to curate, make posts and engage the way I want to.

Snow people eh? What about the Snow pimps? No snow pimps? 🎩⛄

Again, Happy New Year and thank you for being so active and supportive to people all over the internet and on HIVE!

Procreate is an app only available on the iPad and definitely has become my app of choice for most of my graphics work. I keep getting amazed at how powerful it is and what it can do. I'm just an amateur using it compared to what I see done.

Yeah, I was trying to do adobe illustrator but I got too distracted watching certain things on HIVE that I did not fully understand and ran to splinterlands to avoid content creation for a little bit. Still though, maybe illustrator is for hardcore graphic designers and I see people using less complicated programs like the one you are using here in an easier fashion that allows for creation and creativity with maybe just as good of results without the daunting learning curve! This post did inspire me to maybe start looking into easier to use graphic design tools. But I am anti ios so will need to explore more windows based stuff. Thanks for being such an inspiration!
