I remember this woman being battered on the streets, i remember her sheding tears whilst blood was drooling out her nose, i remember her screaming and hoping that someone would come to her rescue. Fortunately, help came through and she was dragged out of the hand of the man that had once told her he loved her,a man who had promised to be the best thing she had ever had,a man who swore never to raise his hands on her. What seemed to be the problem? Mercy had found out that the love of her life was keeping an extra marital affair, she didn't have to hear from anybody because the man flaunted Margaret for her to see. He would drive by Mercy's work place to pick her up after work but instead of Mercy being the lady occupying the front sit,it was Magaret.
Mercy was so cool headed that no matter what her husband did she remained unbothered because her consolation was the fact that she was blessed with a beautuful baby girl whom she drew her strength from. Yea! You would say she should have reacted but the question is would it change anything?🤷♀️ Mercy held on to the believe that her man would return to treating her right again but it was only a dream. Her man would kiss Margaret in front of her and all she would do is wet her pillows with tears every other night. The extra marital affair continue until that day mercy overheard her man over the phone with Margaret planning to abandon her and the child. To save her home and make her man stay Mercy resorted to hiding his car keys while she prepared little Glory for school.
Mercy had already left the house hoping that she might have being far gone before her man wakes up. Unfortunately, she was just a street away from home when her man came running to catch up with her
He caught up with her holding her by her hand he inquired!! Where's my car keys? Mercy stood motionless and scared☹️ not knowing how to respond. He yelled again and again 'where's my keys' while mercy was just hoping the ground would open up and swallow her what came next she couldn't fanthom.
He had slapped her severally that blood began to drool outta her nose and her mouth. Her jaw hurt from several blows, she was helpless while still holding Glory by the hand.Yea her man cared less about the trauma the little girl would have to deal with!! He was just bent on getting his keys but got no response from Mercy. People began to gather while trying to take Glory to safety while also trying to save Mercy from her man.
Madam, where's his keys? People asked while trying to pull Mercy away from her man.I flushed it!! She muttered breaking down on the floor, on hearing that her man rushed in again to hit her again but was restrained. You'll meet me in the house he muttered and left angrily. The crowd dispersed and Mercy held her child by the hand and led her to school while still trying to clean the blood oozing outta her nose.
Meanwhile, Margaret had turn up to the house after getting the information about what happened. She was so determined to throw Mercy out of the house so she would take over.Mercy had gone to her sisters place to wait till it was 2pm in the afternoon so she would go pick Glory from school so they would return home. While at her sisters Mercy was talked outta the marriage but she refused because she was scared about how she would raise a child single handedly, on getting home with Glory she met Margaret who was already waiting and another fight ensued and ofcourse their man locked them in to fight to death while he stepped out. Thankfully the neighbours were around so they broke down the house seperated the women. Right there Mercy held her child who was crying inside the room while the fight was ongoing. She packed the little she could held her child by the hand and left the house.
That was how Mercy survived abuse and a broken home till date. Her man got Margaret pregnant and wedded her few months later while Mercy is left to cater for her child single handedly and trust me she's doing so well at the job. Judge her all you can but i see a strong woman who chose to stay alive than die in a marriage that brought her pain. I am that child from that home and trust me the trauma still remains in my head.```
