Czym jest 168 in 1?
Jak sama nazwa mówi, to kartridź, który zawiera 168 wersji różnych gier. To moja ulubiona składanka zaraz po Złotej Piątce i Złotej Czwórce. Zaznaczę, że pobrałem legalną kopię zapasową niekomercyjnej gry, gdyż gdzieś w czeluściach garażu mam oryginalną wersję. Składanka obejmuje wiele tytułów, a wśród nich takie hity jak Contra, Arkanoid czy Tanki. Jestem wielkim fanem każdej z nich, lecz w dzieciństwie nie dawałem im rady z uwagi na bardzo wysoki poziom trudności na kolejnych etapach. I...teraz wcale nie jest łatwiej.
Gry
Na dyskietce znajdziemy kilkanaście gier w wielu różnych wariantach. To prawdziwe klasyki ze świata NESa, które cieszyły się niezwykłą popularnością. Poszczególne wersje różnią się liczbą żyć czy opcją rozpoczęcia zabawy od wybranego etapu. Dopiero podczas pisania tego tekstu uświadomiłem sobie, że to nielicencjonowana składanka. Po prostu dawniej się o tym nie myślało, bo oryginalne konsole NES na polskim rynku były ekstremalnie trudno dostępne i niezwykle drogie.
Czym się różnią oryginalne wersje od tych nieco mniej oryginalnych? Prawie niczym. W oryginałach gdzieniegdzie po prostu było widoczne logo Nintendo. Ponadto różniły się nazwy gier.
Arkanoid
I teraz wyobraźcie sobie, że dziś wychodzi klon PlayStation 5, który dostępny jest na bazarze i kosztuje połowę ceny oryginału. Natomiast gry sprzedawane są za ułamek ceny, lecz wyglądają identycznie. Sony pewnie złożyłoby pozew na grube miliony. Kiedyś niemal wszyscy moi znajomi mieli Pegasusa, lecz nikt nie miał NESa. Gry działały dobrze, choć pady psuły się co chwilę. Aby nie odchodzić za bardzo od tematu, dodam, że sterowanie na Steam Decku jest naprawdę super. Do tego stopnia, że gram głównie w romy starych gier. No, ale jak tu nie grać w takie perełki?
Tanks
Oczyiwiście zarówno Arkanoid, jak i gra w czołgi mnie pokonały. W Contrze idzie już lepiej i ta gra nadal robi niesamowite wrażenie. Całkiem ładny pixel art i świetna grywalność, która wciąga i zachęca na kolejnych gier.
Contra
Oprócz wspomnianych gier znajdziemy tu m.in. Popaye, Sky Destroyer, Donkey Kong czy moje ukochan Galaxian. Wybaczcie brak fotek z innych tytułów, ale tak się wciągnąłem, że ten blog powstaje o 2 w nocy. Zatem czas do spania :)

What is 168 in 1?
As the name says, it's a cartridge that contains 168 versions of various games. This is my favorite compilation right after Golden Five and Golden Four. I will point out that I downloaded a legitimate backup copy, as somewhere in the depths of the garage I have the original version. The compilation includes a number of titles, among them such hits as Contra, Arkanoid and Tanki. I'm a big fan of each of these games, but in my childhood I couldn't handle them because of the very high level of difficulty on the subsequent stages. And...it's not any easier now.
Games
On the floppy disk you will find more than a dozen games in many different variants. These are true classics from the NES world, which were extremely popular. Individual versions differ in the number of lives or the option to start the game from a selected stage. It was only while writing this text that I learned that this is an unlicensed compilation. It simply wasn't thought of in the past, because the original NES consoles on the Polish market were extremely hard to find and extremely expensive. What's the difference between the original versions and the slightly less original ones? Almost nothing. In the originals, the NIntendo logo was simply visible in places. In addition, the titles of the games differed.
Arkanoid.
And now imagine that today a PlayStation 5 clone comes out, which is available in the bazaar and costs half the price of the original. The games, on the other hand, are sold for a fraction of the price, but are identical. Sony would probably file a lawsuit for fat millions. At one time almost all my friends had a Pegasus, but no one had an NES. The games worked fine, but the pads broke every now and then. Not to get too far off topic, I'll add that the controls on Steam Deck are really great. So much so that I play mostly roms of old games. Well, but how not to play such gems?

Of course, both Arkanoid and the tanks game beat me. Things are going better in Contra and this game is still incredibly impressive. Pretty nice pixel art and great playability that draws you in and encourages you to play more games.
Contra.
In addition to the aforementioned games, you'll find Popaye, Sky Destroyer, Donkey Kong and my beloved Galaxian, among others. Forgive the lack of photos of other titles, but I got so engrossed that this blog is created at 2 am. So, time for bed :)
