The Flatulent Feast

in #fart16 days ago

Here is an old family recipe I wanted to share with everyone with a guarantee to make you Fart! I made some images with GROK as well for the article. GROK is really good for image creation.

It's Called "The Flatulent Feast"

Ingredients:
2 cups of dried beans (black, navy, or pinto) - Soaking overnight is recommended for better digestion, but for our purposes, we'll skip this step for maximum effect haha!!!!!

1 large onion, chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups broccoli, chopped

1 cup Brussels sprouts, halved

1 cup cauliflower, chopped

1 large apple, diced with skin on

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup lentils

4 cups vegetable or bean cooking broth

Fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro for garnish

Instructions:
Prepare the Beans:
Rinse the beans and place them in a large pot with enough water to cover them by a few inches. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for about 1.5 to 2 hours or until soft. Drain, but save the cooking liquid.

Sauté the Base:
In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sautéing until they're soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

Add Veggies:
Stir in the broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and apple. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the vegetables to start to soften.

Spice it Up:
Add cumin and chili powder to the pot, stirring well to mix with the vegetables.

Combine Ingredients:
Pour in the cooked beans, lentils, and 4 cups of the bean cooking broth (or vegetable broth). Bring everything to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer. Cook for about 30 minutes, or until all vegetables are tender and the lentils are cooked through. If the mixture gets too thick, add more broth or water.

Season:
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remember, beans can absorb a lot of salt, so don't be shy, but taste as you go.

Serve:
Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs. The texture should be stew-like, with the beans slightly creamy from breaking down during cooking.

Why It Works:
Beans, lentils, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower are notorious for causing gas due to their high fiber content and certain sugars that the human body can't digest easily.

Apples with skin add extra fiber and sorbitol, which can lead to gas.

Onions and garlic contribute to the sulfur compounds in your meal, enhancing the gas production.

Enjoy your meal, and perhaps, the solitude that might follow. Remember, in the right company, this might just be the start of a very memorable evening.
