After the big fireworks show last night in Valencia I took the train down to Cullera for a Mascletà shot by Pirotecnia Zaragozana. The first thing I did when I arrived was to check out the setup to get a sense of today's daytime firework display.
As always, I was already thinking about where I should stand to capture the Mascletà. I noticed that the barriers would limit my direct view of the shooting location. Then I saw the Cullera hill and thought, "Why not? Let's film this display the way birds would see it."
So right before 2pm, I went on a little walk and climb, and positioned myself to have a different kind of Mascletà view. I'm so glad I decided to climb the Cullera hill to watch the Mascletà. It was so unique to see one of those fireworks from a different point of view.
