This was last week when I had my friends come down from Mumbai. We took them to the Mountains for an overnight stay. It's one of my favorite places in Oman, a complete cut off from the world, though nowadays there are more and more people who are finding this place and coming up. Some years back when we had discovered this place, there would be hardly anyone seen and there was one small lodge where we would stay, but nowadays it's getting popular and also some coffee shops have opened up. I wonder if this will be my favorite place for long with all this popularity and crowd.
The temperature here is always less by 15 degrees then the city temperature so now in these months by night it gets freezing cold. During our stay it was 10 degrees, which is quite cold for me and since this is on the top and it's open from all sides there's too much wind which is actually the problem for me.
There is absolutely nothing that is available on the top, so everything needs to be carried. For food the lodge provides meals, but there is nothing fancy about it. We normally carry food. This time we planned to do barbeque for dinner. All the preparations were made from home and carried. It only had to be grilled, which is also quite a task. We were 16 of us so it was lots to be made.
Before starting the barbeque the first important thing to do was to set up a bonfire to stay warm. Once that was done everyone got comfortable around it.
We had distributed the activities. I had brought all the marinated food, so then here I was relaxed and the barbeque part was being done by others from our group.
I had marinated sausages and chicken
It's getting cooked up
One of our friend is doing this job :-)
Me and hubby are in relaxed mode because we have already done our share of job :-)
Out party went on till late night and by mid night we had finished all the logs that we had got, so after that I started feeling cold. Once the fire went off then I too called off the night and went to sleep.
