How to Play on Quest 2: The Virtual Experience

This one time on Pimp your Post Thursday...

Hello! Today I thought I would give my reviews for some of the games for the Oculus. Recently while attending #pypt @dreemsteem was explaining how much fun she and her son were having using the Quest 2. I had been debating getting one because of the price and needing a Facebook account to use it.

I had recently deleted my fakebook, so I would have to make a new one... grrr. (Just fyi any ppl who want to promote their stuff on social media, you lose me at post on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram ect.) I'm not doing it.

Anywho, Dreem sold me on the idea of playing in Virtual Reality, and I ordered a Quest 2.

The headset is awkward, and it took me a while to get used to it, but after a while I had no problem with it.

You will need enough room cleared in your play space to move around. The headset programs a guardian boarder around you which lights up if you are moving out of the safe zone.

I had watched enough videos of people running into stuff, so I am very cautious not to move outside the guardian. I do suffer from movement sickness, so I didn't want to get any crazy scary games.

If you decide you would like to try the Quest 2, feel free to use my Referal Link and we will both get a $30 store credit!

I really liked Dance Central. Since I don't like to spend chunks of money on games, I had bought a few less expensive games before allowing myself to spend 30 bucks on a dance game...

But, I wanted to have some kind of activity, and finally bit the bullet and got the game.

This game is great, and has been my favorite so far. The people in the game who stare at you while you dance are very creepy, and dealing with the public creeps me out. So I just stay in the dance club, and do the dances.

The dance club gives you different dancing avatars to mimic. There is a little changing room where you can change your clothes and your phone. The game also offers a tutorial, and a dance instructor with whom you can practice your moves.

One of the cool things I like about this game is the health meter. The game calculates how many calories you burn as you dance. It also adds it day by day, so you know how many total calories were burned that week.

The Golf + game is also becoming one of my favorites. I have been playing golfing games for a long time, and the virtual experience does not disappoint!

You are given many different options and games to play. You can play a full course, smaller putting courses, or you can challenge yourself to the mini games they have for practicing your putting.

The putting challenges really did improve my game. I had no problem getting the ball to the green, but I was adding strokes when it came to putting. After practicing in the challenges, I was making eagle shots without even trying.

The one thing I really like about this game is that they have a music player. You can choose the type of music and play it while you golf. They even have the videos of the songs playing, on a screen that you can move.

This game was only $16.95, and I have already played it enough to justify the price.

Blade & Sorcery: Nomad is worth mentioning because the graphics blew me away. This is a sword fighting game in which you can build your fighting skills.

Unfortunately the movement in this game made me very sea sick and I couldn't get past the first scene. When you move to walk you have to move the entire screen which was just too much for me.

Another game called Fujii was a cute game and I was able to click and point to move. I liked that better. Although Fujii also made me a little sick.

Tetris Effect: Connected was not worth the money imo. I had expected to be able to touch the blocks with my hands, but it was just the same old game on a bigger screen.

The graphics were ok, they have you floating in space, which also made me sick. I ended up just sitting on the floor and playing it like any other computer game.

Until next time,

Happy Gaming!
