Hive Genealogy Milestone: First Person to be Updated

in #genealogy2 months ago

I know, I know, it doesn't sound like that big of a deal but hear me out...

I've been posting genealogy stuff here for the last couple of years now. While my goal is to ultimately create a 'tree' of connected individuals, I haven't made it to that point yet. There are a couple of reasons. The first is that I've been working on my family tree since the late 1990s and there are a massive number of individuals in it. The second reason is that I've been picking individuals completely at random to post. Whenever I happen to pick one that is connected to another that I've already posted (mother, father or child), then they will be linked here on Hive. I'll get there sooner or later.

Despite not having reached the milestone of having any connected individuals yet, I did reach one milestone today. I picked (at random) an individual that I had already posted before. The result of this is that this is the first individual to receive an update. I originally posted the entry for Enoch Buck a little over a year ago. So what has changed since then? Primarily the addition of more sources. You can see the now updated entry here. You can also check out the index of all of the individuals I have posted so far here.

For now, photos and things like source pages are linked to another site. I may eventually start putting those on Hive too. In theory, it might be a little easier since those aren't as likely to be updated. We shall see...
