EDITORIAL

Crash! Boom! Bang! Here it comes, our November issue. We've got the keyboards, the heads and some of the feet burning for you. Where the mist rises in the cold, there might be a HiQer.

Tadaaa, we present this month's MVP @ravenmus1c who provides the musical backdrop to our game. She makes you look deep, so you too look into @smooms' article that mentions a secret project.

If you read @kvinna's column, you can feel the suspense building as she once again tells you what's going on behind the scenes at HiQ. You know, the things you might otherwise never know - with permission, of course.

Now you should be as excited as @mima2606 now that you can finally relax and let go by reading @quekery's article on CraftInk. Those who can combine will suspect that this is the secret project. You can find out for yourselves whether this is really true.

However, @queker is not only busy with crypto, but has also tested a game for you together with the Switchdopteur @smooms and the "exceptionally amateurish lazy dogsitter" @mary-me. You can find their results in the article "Crypto Shots + Giveaway".

While @smooms tested the game's pay mode, @mary-me has been busy hitting the keys and creating a file FTX. Centralised or decentralised, that is the question here. Although so much has supposedly already been said about it, you can find her compact conclusion in this issue.

@quekery has written about Actifit. As always, he provides deep details and helpful tips - an article with a Quekery seal of approval. You can also find the testimonials of the three there. Stray with the cat or blame the dogs? Are they fit as a fiddle or are they cheating? Read for yourself, there's plenty to laugh about, even if AFIT doesn't interest you.

Our extremely helpful and appreciated English proofreader @tengolotodo has it all, as his name suggests. For the umpteenth time, he is writing articles and has put aside his proofreading glasses. He doesn't need Actifit for motivation. Will he eventually write the whole issue and we translate and proofread? Check out his articles on "LeoThreads" and "November Monthly Challenges" and judge for yourself.

This issue is very musically inclined. @themyscira has been out and about in the music community. You can read what she found out in her article. @solymi is also taking off with us, he not only podcasts our lyrics (Editor's note: Hivestyyyyyyyle!), but also does a jingle contest - the chance for everyone who wants to show off their skills.

There are now quite a few Hive Live Meetups, so @manncpt has summarised an overview for you in an article here. So be there live instead of in the middle, or vice versa, you know. Although in this case it comes out the same, LOOL.

Last but not least, you will of course find our classics in this issue, like the leaderboard with the most loyal HIQS stakeholders, Gossip, Hivestyle for Hivians - very important for you to be and stay hivestylish at all times. Of course, we also have mail for you again, because your letters to the editor have been answered dutifully, as always.

PS: As always you can participate in the Commentary Discount Sale and get up to 270 HIQS for the price of 0.3 SWAP.HIVE. Just write

!HIQS DesiredAmounts

in the comments. After 2 days we will publish a post at @hiq.shares that will handle the sale.

PPS: Vote HiQs Witness. Now. LOOL!

➀ MVP

When the music plays, we are the ones who listen. This month it has led us to an MVP in a class of her own. @ravenmus1c, who just wants to be called "Raven" by the common people.

Raven has been hard at work on a semi-secret HiQ project for a few weeks now and will become indispensable to us as a musician and sound designer. But that wasn't the reason she was chosen as MVP.

Before she made the commitment to do the music and sound design for our semi top secret HiQ project, she was already delighting the blockchain with her musical outpourings, and was already involved in other projects (Editor's note: Which are less top secret though.) as a musician. Because we celebrate what she does, the choice was not difficult.

We have already spoken to her. It was nice. Working with her is going to be great. We are already looking forward to the first tight music tracks she will provide us with for our semi top secret HiQ project and congratulate her on this month's MVP. ★

➁ THE COLUMN

This time you can read about everything that is going on at HiQ in my column. There is a lot of noise, the gears are running at full speed and there is no stopping them.

The three from HiQ tested the Actifit app. Full of euphoria, they installed it and checked the technical details and found it cool - until then. But now steps have to be taken, which @mary-me should be able to do easily on her large estate with rental dogs. @quekery has his commute and walks to the petrol station because something is off and @smooms is a cyclist and dog owner anyway. They describe themselves as basement kids, whether that's true the app will show, unless they strap the phone to the mouse arm. You can find an article about their experiences with Actifit in this issue.

A new token has seen the light of day. Now you might be wondering what I mean, the HIQS has been around for a while. Well, I'm talking about a brand new one, the INK, the funny blob on the Hive blockchain. Those of you who read the editor's post already know that. So you can storm onto the Hive engine at your leisure and shop around.

Here, no one has become a painter, but the INK belongs to a game, to be precise, to the game that the three are currently designing. @ravenmus1c and @bubblegif are part of the game, bringing sound and colour into play. I think it's about time. @smooms who has probably played pretty much every game there is on the market and is also a programmer, closely followed by @quekery who dances with the Switch and @mary-me, the tamer of bosses in Mir4. If they don't make a game, who else will?

What I've been wishing for for a long time is now fulfilled by @solymi, because he reads our texts and presents them on the Chain as a podcast. Another new account, you will say, but @hiq.smartcast is really an enrichment. For the whole necessary flood of HiQ accounts, I suggested that there should be a closed community where every post appears so you don't miss anything once you hit subscribe there.

Otherwise, @smooms and @quekery almost had ear damage from pressure in tunnels on the way back from their Life Meetup, but they make sacrifices. A somewhat sad fact is that maths topics have been thin on the ground, but @quekery is captivated by programming and is always getting something new to do. However, as a treat, there are freshly signed HiveFest print editions for you hardcore fans of the HiQ core team, so grab them before they go out of stock.

You see, the gears are running hot and the bones are cracking. Because of the implementation of all the ideas and efforts to keep the gyroscope moving to make the Actifit app smoke. So there is little time for "this, that, pineapple", because on the way to even more quality for you, Hivestyle must not fall by the wayside. ★

➂ COVER STORY

A game to support them and plunge them into more work. A token to buy and fund CraftInk. A Shadow Drop to reveal it and in the hiveness play it.

For some time now we have been making jokes about the need for HiQ booster packs. (Editor's note: HiQster?) Why? Well, who doesn't want booster packs? A pack opening with cards from us? Also, we've been trying to sell HiQ NFTs made by @bubblegif on NFT-Showroom for a while now. Not to mention our attempt to turn HiQ issues into NFTs, only to realise that wasn't a good idea as you can just download the file. You just never stop learning, LOOL.

But as we mentioned in the print edition of HiQ (Editor's note: Which you can still buy.), it's a different story with game NFTs. So why shouldn't Team-HiQ also make a game? And what would we need to make a card game? NFT design, game design, programming skills... Luckily we have all the skills in the HiQ editorial team. After a few weeks, the time had come. We started working on the project. And again a few weeks later there was ...

the shadow drop of the ingame token INK. Smart hivestylers have already discovered it and stocked up a bit. (Editor's note: They must have social-engineered us, LOOL.)

CraftInk

Our game will be called "CraftInk" and the ingame token is called INK. The game will be thematically about us and the Hive Blockchain, and since we constantly have ink on our fingers from all the writing and printer cleaning, ink plays a big role. Humour should not be neglected either, after all we do Hivestyle satire and always want to entertain our fans.

The game should be fun, for one thing. Of course, who wants a game that isn't fun? And it shouldn't feel like a clone of [insert your favourite trading card game here]. We did a conspiratorial, secret IRL meet-up the week before last and played our first game prototype and had a blast. Spoiler, both criteria were met.

Play2Earn2Support

Another important aspect of the game is to support HiQ and all the people working on the HiQ project. So part of CraftInk's revenue is to be used explicitly to pay editors.

But if we're going to create hivestylish trading card NFTs, we might as well make editors (Editor's note: And those who might want to become editors. Like, for example, the other "employees" involved in CraftInk.) and give them a share of the income.

INK

So if you're as excited as we are, you can buy INK right now and get involved in funding CraftInk and supporting HiQ editors.

In the game, you will be able to earn INK and purchase certain assets like special booster packs only with INK. But even before that, we will give INK features like staking and diesel pools to gradually build tokenomics around INK. This is also a reason for us to start the token sale now.

The Design

We've already been working feverishly on the card design and @bubblegif is really getting into her NFT artist role. Treat yourselves to this creation, for example. Spoiler alert:

And who knows, maybe YOU will soon be a card too? (Editor's note: Please send bribe money to @bubblegif.)

Wen Lambo

There is no Lambo card yet, LOOL. But we will publish a post about CraftInk on @craftink later this year. Of course, our subscribers will not be left empty-handed for this special event, and neither will all fans of the HIQS token. (Editor's note: Don't spoil so much already!)

PS: If you want to subscribe to us, just write +SUB in the comments. (Editor's note: And we won't tell you how to unsubscribe, LOOL.)

We will continue to work on CraftInk (Editor's note: and our other projects). But you know, anticipation is the best joy, especially at this time of year. ★

By: @smooms & @quekery

➃ COVER STORY

We become pro-gamers. The HiQ editorial team ventures into completely new realms and plays the first playable first-person shooter on Hive - Crypto Shots.

The first first-person shooter on the Hive Blockchain, Crypto Shots, which was developed in the Unity Engine, was penned by @keys-defender. In addition to the connection to the Hive Chain, there is also the option to log in via WAX or Ethereum. We played the Hive version.

In the game, you have the opportunity to earn tokens by defeating enemies on the 3 levels that the game contains so far, which can pay out afterwards on Hive Engine.

In-game, this token is called BOOM. However, if it is claimed at Crypto Shots, it becomes DOOM at Hive-Engine. Crazy, we know. But what else does the game have in store for us?

As you know from Cryptogames, everything here revolves around collecting NFTs with which you can gain advantages in the game. In the levels, you can only collect the weapons for which you have the NFTs.

Unfortunately, it is also the case that you have to have character NFTs of a certain level to be able to enter the higher levels in the game. (Editor's note: In addition to some in-game requirements. Such as: Complete the previous level on "Medium" difficulty or something)

For those who want to try out the game without making a commitment, the free-to-play mode is suitable. You can play levels 1 and 2 without having to pay anything. Only before entering the 3rd level will you be asked to pay 1 HIVE. (Editor's note: Beta testers only pay 0.001 HIVE.) In this mode, however, you do not earn any tokens.

@mary-me, @smooms and @quekery took on the challenge of trying to master the 3rd level on easy. @smooms, as an old shooter bunny, was of course the first. @quekery, as a console purist, naturally wanted to test out a controller right away. He came in second with the Xbox Series X controller. @mary-me as the worst shooter noob at least made it to the boss of the second level in the same time.

We definitely had fun during our session and will definitely visit Crypto Shots more often. Who knows, maybe there will soon be a PVP mode where the HiQoot clan really dominates?

Technically, the game ran smoothly. From time to time, however, we had to deal with small bugs, such as spawning in the wrong place. We really liked the 3rd level and are curious to see what Crypto Shots will offer us in the future. Maybe we'll meet @keys-defender again at the next HiveFest.

(Note from Crypto Shots: If you own the Teleport NFT you always land in the weapon room for all levels. The weird spawn points are a way to reduce the chances of unlocking the Champion status (higher daily BOOM claim) for players that don't have it.)

And because @keys-defender is so generous and full of integrity, we also have another WINNER GAME for you - sponsored by Crypto Shots.

To take part, simply write in the comments whether you prefer to play Crypto Shots with a mouse and keyboard or with a controller and tag 2 friends.
The closing date for entries is December 7th 2022.

Here's what you can win:

  • 1 Base Gun (Game Weapon)
  • 1 Rifle (Game Weapon)
  • 1 Shot Gun (Game Weapon)
  • 1 Legendary Ammo
  • 1 Vance Tyrrell (Game Character)
  • 1 Masha Talashova (Game Character)
  • 2 Skin for Elektra (Weapon Skin)
  • 1 Skin for Justice (Weapon Skin)

Three lucky winners will be drawn from all participants. (Editor's note: By the way, a beechen told us that the skins could become really valuable.)

PS: Only full noobs play Crypto Shots with PS4 controller, LOOL. ★

➄ COVER STORY

The problem is not crypto per se, nor too little regulation or anything else.... The problem is centralisation and the rampant corruption and intertwining of crypto and politics.

Even though the mainstream now thinks that the FTX story should be a big setback for the crypto scene, it's a chapter that doesn't really make us Hivians sweat. Real crypto ninjas have always relied on decentralisation and FTX just like Binance and all the other big player crypto exchanges were always just "pass-throughs" for us.

When the case of FTX became known at the beginning of November, none of us knew what FTX was. The first path led us to Lügipedia (editor's note: one-page-pedia, non-decentral-pedia or non-DAO-pedia): Financing rounds worth millions, advertising contracts with Mercedes, Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady actually say it all.

Yes, the question is always: "How did they get so big so quickly? That doesn't necessarily sound like organic growth, LOOL.

FTX's connections to the highest circles of this world are unmistakable. Whether this is a planned conspiracy or not, we cannot and do not want to say at this point. (Editor's note: Although we also like to blether quite often, LOOL.)

Whether Kläuschen Schwab and consorts wanted to dominate or control the crypto market by means of FTX is almost irrelevant. Because centralised structures are a horror to us smart Hivians and whether they are more or less linked to large or small companies or states should generally not affect us.

People network, companies partner up, structures are created and common goals are pursued. These are normal processes that are not in themselves reprehensible, but when it becomes apparent that one or more people are enriching themselves excessively, it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

What is now clearly visible is the meekness of the world press towards this issue. It seems as if they are using the FTX case to create sentiment for more regulation in the crypto market. But Hive can also take that in its stride.

Don't be misled and try to avoid the centrally controlled crypto exchanges. But who am I telling... you know all this. What we learn from the case is that decentralised structures are becoming more and more important and we should promote and expand them. ★

➅ APPS & TOOLS

Our "roving" reporters @quekery, @smooms and @mary-me enter the world of fitness and test the fitness app Actifit for you. (Editor's note: So you don't have to, LOOL.)

Actifit has been with us on the Chain for several years. Some even call it the best fitness app. Using Actifit is very simple. You download the Actifit app for Android or iOS, (editor's note: we poor editors have tested it on Android, of course) log in, (editor's note: or create a new account) and take at least 5,000 steps a day. You can then make a post directly from the app. If you forget to do this, you can also do it for the previous day. In addition, you can collect a small daily reward in the form of the AFIT token. You only have to watch an annoying little commercial to claim the reward.

If you reach 5000, 7000 or 10000 steps, you can also earn rewards for them. You can also get AFIT rewards for posts. However, you must have at least 5000 AFITs in the app. Since we are very impatient, we bought 5000 AFITs and downloaded them into the app via https://actifit.io/. By using the app and holding the tokens (AFIT and AFITX), you can also move up in the rankings. There are also some goodies in the app that you can buy with AFIT, e.g. to get more AFIT for a post - gamification is very important here. There are also Diesel Pools for defi friends.

Since we wanted to earn many tribetokens, we also set various tribe tags to increase our rewards. Don't set the wrong tags here, though, as some communities don't like to see Actifit posts. But a photo for #photography can't hurt in our opinion. However, we did not see any great response to our posts. At least Actifit rewarded the posts.

You can also connect external devices to the app, such as an Apple Watch. However, we have not tested this. You know ... The pedometer didn't always track in the background for all of us. Which is annoying if you miss some steps as a result. There is an optional setting to track steps more aggressively, against the tradeoff of battery power, but even that didn't really improve it. So we had to switch to the app with the phone several times a day to have a reliable tracking of steps.

Overall, it was an interesting experience to use the app and the gamification was also successful. For users who don't like to post but are physically active, Actifit can certainly be recommended. However, we have not yet been able to form a judgement about tokenomics. But even if you don't get rich with the app, you can still give it a try.

@quekery only manages the 5000 steps with shaking:

"Go and earn a few cents or dollars with it?" This sentence in a podcast that I trusted convinced me after all, at least that's what I thought. I've been avoiding Actifit for a long time. There are hivians who don't like Actifit - feed spam. And some communities don't like Actifit either and even flag Actifit posts. (Note from @quekery: cough Didn't happen to me, of course, LOOL.) But now I thought: "You can give it a try and in the worst case an article for the HiQ will come out of it." So I made myself a "secret" account and started my attempt. Unfortunately, I was ill during the test period and therefore couldn't perform very well. In everyday life I get about 3000 steps per day. Unfortunately, it takes at least 5000 steps for a post, so I exceeded the limit twice by shaking. (Editor’s note: Cheater!) The app itself is quite cool and there is a lot of gamification in the Actifit tokenomics. Unfortunately, on my Xiamo phone, the background tracking of steps didn't always work and I often lost a lot of steps. The menu item that is supposed to improve tracking, but consumes more battery power, unfortunately didn't help either. Nevertheless, I will continue to use Actifit. You never know if I'm going to become a sports fanatic, LOOL.

@smooms might get to the 5000 steps but is too lazy to post:

My fitness is, how shall I put it, discreetly atrophied! I know exercise from YouTube videos and sport only from video games. (Editor's note: When was the last time you played Ringfit Adventure? Two years ago?) But getting money to exercise? I had to try Actifit right away. (Well, it was kind of a compulsion, you have to know what you're writing about in an article.) The first few days I was really enthusiastic. I think I even wrote an Actifit post. After that, however, the oven was already off for me. I found it problematic that the app always has to run in the background so that the steps can be counted. I think Actifit is a good alternative for Hivians who don't know what to write about. But me... I just don't feel like it, LOOL.

@mary-me is a cat lady who blames poor dogs:

As a full-blooded cellar-dweller, I was sceptical whether I could do anything with Actifit, so I called the newly created account @inactifit. Nevertheless, I went into it full of verve, as our test period coincided exactly with the time when I had two dogs with me to look after. Well, 5000 steps were a challenge even with dogs. It might have been possible if the dogs themselves hadn't been so lazy. (Editor's note: Always blame the dogs ...) In conclusion, I can say that an app that rewards exercise is not right for me, LOOL.

(Anm. v. @mary-me: As if @quekery makes 3000 steps^^)

We'll see who of us continues to try to climb up the Actifit rankings. (Editor's note: We should have tested in the summer, LOOL.) If you now feel like making Actifit crap posts, you have our blessing. Just don't use the wrong tags. ;) ★

Who needs Elon Musk, Twitter and 8 dollars a month blue checkmarks when Hive has a ready made version called Leo Threads? Just like us 3-line scribblers!

If you go down to the Den today that is LeoFinance then you are in for a big surprise.

Unless you have been living on the moon (Editor's note: But don't we all want to be there as we keep wishing our tokens go there!), then you will know that Elon Musk bought Twitter. Yes the home of the 240 character text where you now have to pay 8 dollars a month for your little blue verification mark.

Well do you know that we don't have a Chief Twit but we have a Chief Lion in theform of @khaleelkazi and he is head honcho on Hive's very own version of the 240 character short form social media content that is Leo Threads?

And guess what? At Leo Threads, you don't pay 8 dollars or 8 HIVE monthly. Oh no there are no pay to get a special account, in Leo Threads just like any other place in Hive it is free to use.

In fact, you can potentially be rewarded in the form of LEO and HIVE for posting on threads.

GM:FRENS is a cross-blockchain social NFT experiment that lives on the WAX & Hive blockchains. You mine GM tokens by using the #gmfrens tag on Leo Threads once per day. The whole idea behind the project is to encourage users to use Threads, and interact with one another on a daily basis. The brainchild behind #gmfrens is @l337m45732.

So don't be shy! If you see @hiq.redaktion posting on threads, come and say hi and vote for us as we both win LOOL.

Still not convinced? Then what about if you can earn some bullshit for your shit post? Yes simply by using the bullshit tag you will be rewarded with 420 $BST from @solymi!

So what are you waiting for, let's get threading! ★

➇ COMMUNITY

November was the month where some daily posting challenges had to be completed for 30 days. Was it tortuous or a breeze let's investigate. Did Hivians falter or make it through November.

Have you been seeing some strange tags being used around Hive in November, such as:

#NaBloPoMo
#NaNoWriMo
#NaPodPoMo
#HiveBloPoMo
#hivenano2022

They all stem from NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month which began in 1999 as a straightforward challenge to write 50 000 words of a novel in the thirty days of November.

Some amazing Hivians used this as a basis for inspiration and gave us our own Hive versions.

In 2007 Jennifer Navarrete aka @epodcaster actually created National Podcast Post Month!

The fact #NaPodPoMo has become a global challenge would have surprised and delighted me 15 years ago when I had this crazy idea to podcast daily for a month. I had no idea if anyone would join me for that first challenge. They did and the rest is history.

Many Hivians have started podcasting and whilst not everyone managed to post daily to the NaPodPoMo community, or complete the 30 podcasts in November challenge, they did discover that Hive has its own podcasting Aureal community and frontend.

If you want more details try visiting www.NaPodPoMo.org or reach out to Jennifer on Hive or on Twitter.

As we are so stylish and have FOMO HiQ is even podcasting now LOOL. So check out the first podcast from @hiq.smartcast:

Hive Blog Posting Month (aka #HiveBloPoMo) also has its own community HiveBloPoMo and actually happens twice a year in April and November. The challenge to post/blog daily for the 30 days of November.

HiveBloPoMo is the brainchild of @traciyork which she first brought to Hive in April 2020 after using a similar tag on the legacy chain.
Introducing Hive Blog Posting Month (aka #HiveBloPoMo)! - The first on Hive, for April 2020.

Traci discovered NaNoWriMo in 2007 followed by the offshoot NaBloPoMo aka National Blog Posting Month a few years later, and in 2014 she took part in both of them. The rest as we say is history.

The last tag and one for which prizes were actaully competed for is #hivenano2022.

The Scholar and Scribe community brought us the 2022 NaNoWriMo Challenge (Nov 1–30) and as explained by @jfuji The Scholar & Scribe NaNoWriMo challenge was pretty simple! (There was no need to actually write a novel, but 40,000 words would have been a great target.)

✒️ From Nov 1–30: for any post in the following communities, include this tag: #hivenano2022 ✒️

And there we have what was the month of November with all those daily posting challenges, from writing to talking, there was something for everyone... well almost everyone, LOOL. ★

➈ COMMUNITY

In this edition of HiQ - The Hivestyle Magzine, we take inspiration from the awesome music community, where it's not just about grabbing the MUSIC tokens...

but also how to present your musical skills, your favourite pieces or your own compositions.

What does music actually do to us? How is music created, where does the idea come from and how is it realised? These are questions that have their justifications and are answered here on Hive. Here we present you with a ranking of some of the Hive music community actors. Let's start with the first act:

Act 1

At the beginning of this article, the HIVE OPEN MIC community should get its justified spotlight. In this community you can present your own pieces to a large audience by uploading them on 3speak and tagging them #openmic. If there is a reader here who is a great singer in the shower or an instrumentalist, this is the community for them.

Act 2

Here we focus on the tangible talents who are on the Hive blockchain and have already delivered a lot over the years. They're just waiting for you to celebrate them like rockHivestars. Lights out, spotlights on, for the musical players in our HiQ Music Ranking.

1. Place in our HiQ Music Ranking.

Who better to take 1st place in the music provider category than @ravenmus1c? Not only is she our MVP this month, but she's our favourite in other ways too. Rumour has it that she is lending us her talent for one of our ongoing projects. In addition, she is also diligently engaged in scouting new talent on the Chain. That's what we call commitment in a class of its own and that alone deserves 1st place in our ranking. See for yourselves:

Raven feat. Cryptoniusrex - Eat You Alive

2. Place in our HiQ Music Ranking.

In 2nd place for headliners are @stickupboys, who not only create funny memes, but also deliver lots of animations in which they stage musical performances for you. These guys LOVE music and deserve 2nd place. Watch how the music moves the @stickupboys to new challenges.

stickupboys bauen sich ein Studio des Todes
Hive Open Mic week 99 - BoyWithUke - Long Drive

3. Place in our HiQ Music Ranking.

And now we come to the 3rd place in our HiQ Music Special Ranking and show you blockchain musicians who let their inspirations sound musically for you. We use few words here, the actors sing for themselves.

Hive Open Mic - Week 138 ( Magic ) - Sin Bandera - ABC - Cover song by @siul1987

🎵 “The Power is Here Now” (Cover) - Live Music for Hive Open Mic 138

Hive Open Mic Week 138 – Ice Queen - Cover by @Rosana6

So, if the sounds have got you going, it's time for Act 3, where we want to introduce you to the MUSIC Token that makes the Superstar Spotlight really possible.

Act 3

MUSIC is a social token for the Hive Engine frontend of @blocktunes. It is the largest music community on Hive, where all music lovers can let off steam and get a lot of MUSIC with good content.

There is a total of 420,000,000 MUSIC that can only be earned through proof-of-brain consensus. If you want to post your music on Hive, don't forget to use the tags #hive-176363, #music, #blocktunes, #btunes and #tunes. The tags are used to make your posts appear on the new front end of the ramp sows and music lovers.

You want to know more about it? Then you can continue here.

BAAM! Rock us, Hivians! Did that rock? Get out of your socks here, the mulled wine is already starting to rock. Looks like we've got something composed, but don't miss this community and come to the symphony of Hardfork philosophy. LOOL ★

In addition, there is currently a jingle contest, because a podcast also needs a signature sound. The provisional "Hivestyyyyle", which @solymi sang, really catchtes us from the editorial team.

Rules for the Jingle Contest:

  • Design a 3-7 second jingle or soundstamp in .mp3 or .wav format for the HiQ Smartcast, our brand new podcast.
  • It has to be hivish and stylish too. Our keywords are #hivestyle #hivesmart #smartcast.
  • It should be a recognisable soundstamp that reminds everyone that we are the best.

There are 50 HIVE to be won. We came up with something like this (Editor's note: although this is just a rough sketch of how @solymi imagines a soundstamp as a .jpg, LOOL.):

We want to take advantage of the v4v.app, thanks to @brianoflondon, because Podping will hopefully fund our new Lambo. (Editor's note: The new one will be the first, LOOL.)

But now enjoy the HiQ podcast! Don't forget to subscribe to the channel and strongly support @solymi to keep him so motivated and full of drive. ★

➀➀ COMMUNITY

Before the end of the year, a few more Hive Meetups will take place. There are a few in German-speaking countries and one in London. Pack your bags and head off to reallife meetings.

It is not easy to summarise all the Hive Real Life Meetups. As announced in the last issue, we are now trying to regularly publish the most important Meetups in this category.

Otherwise, we wish you all a great end to the year. Feel free to send us your Meetup announcements for next year, so that this category always stays nicely filled. ★

➀➁ HIVESTYLE

Blackmail, money laundering, tax evasion and cancelling. This issue covers gossip topics that are definitely worthy of gossip. But shhh, don't tell anyone.

Steem Engine Hack
On November 5th 2022 @aggroed reported on the Hive Engine Discord that Steem Engine had been hacked. Now some may think: "OMG, Steem Engine still exists? And that it was hacked too?" Yes, you read correctly. Apparently there was an exploit that made it possible to hack the Steem Engine database. But according to Hive Engine, the users' funds are supposed to be safu and Hive Engine is not supposed to have this exploit anymore.

The hacker also tried extorting HE, threatening they would refrain from deleting the database in exchange for a certain amount of BTC. Since HE did not respond to the blackmail attempt, the SE database has unfortunately been deleted and at the time of the report it was assumed that a replay of the data would take about a month. In a few months, however, Hive Engine will discontinue Steem Engine. (Editor's note: There's nothing going on on Steem any more, LOOL.)

Shortly after the hack, @quekery bought AFIT and accidentally sent it to Steem-Engine, LOOL. (Translater's note: noob, lol) Coincidence? (Note from @quekery: Now I understand how FTX victims must feel.)

The Untouchables
Do you know this too? As a project grows, investors come in. It hasn't happened to us (yet), but Crypto Shots received a seven-figure offer. It later turned out that the "investor" had apparently intended to commut money laundering or tax evasion with the deal. Crypto Shots maintained their integrity and refused the offer. This may be a setback in the short term, but certainly not in the long term. We'll just call @keys-defender the @integrity-defender from now on, LOOL.

Hive to Wikipedia
@rubencress had the idea to create a Wikipedia article about Hive and has also already started preparing the article. We immediately had to think of the attempt to bring Steem to Wikipedia, which unfortunately failed and caused some gray hair for those involved at the time like @vikisecrets. Mods and admins of Wikipedia don't exactly make it easy to publish an article about a blockchain. Unfortunately, we can only speculate about the reasons. Will we ever see a Hive article on Centralopedia? ★

➀➂ HIVESTYLE

You want the latest hivestyle? We've got it! As always, you'll find the most exciting tips, tricks and news about our beloved chain in this category. Let's go!

Breaking news
Minutes before the German release, we received breaking news; The Swedish Privex servers were down. Unfortunately, we also have Swedish Privex servers. However, at the time of writing, all services are back online. Including ours like HiQ Smart Bot on Discord, !hiqvote and https://hiq-hive.com/. (Editor's note: Surreptitious advertising!)

Important info about Hivebits
HBITs are only mined when you reply to your own comment or post. This is possible once a day. In all other cases, the comment will be skipped. You can find more information about this here.

Super Engagetoken Overview
@enginewitty has done a lot of the work for us. You can find his noteworthy list of engagement tokens here. By the way, there is a brand new one that you can trigger with !WEED. You can find more information about it here.

Fred spins the wheel
This is worth a look not only for newbees, but also for old hands. Join in, win and support @fredfettmeister so he can spin his wheel even faster and hand out bigger prizes. His weekly competition usually appears on his blog on Saturdays.

Hive Gold Quiz
There is no gold to be won at @bechibenner but HSBI, but it is exciting to take part and guess the respective amount of gold. So look for the man with the nose for gold and join in. Support also in the form of upvotes would help and he is happy about every new participant. The exact information with pictures of his treasures can be found here. At the moment the quiz is published every Sunday, maybe more frequently if there is more participation.

Larynx claim, checked
Larynx seems to be claimable, but the button does not disappear. Just try here and watch your balance.

Advent calendar
@miketr starts with his Hivetotal. Actually, it's already Tip 2's turn today. You can guess up to 3 numbers every day and win. Here you can find the rules and information. You can find the daily post on @adventkalender.

DACH Secret Santa
@ynwa.andree is organising the DACH Secret Santa this year. For those who don't know what Secret Santa is, here's a short explanation: A certain number of people get together to give each other presents. A random and anonymous generator determines who will give whom a gift. Each participant receives a gift and sends a gift to a randomly drawn person. It's really fun and interesting because at first you don't know who the gift you've received is from. If you want to take part, check out this post and get in touch with @ynwa.andree.

Question? Answer!
Do you already know the new frontend for Hive? Revio is a dApp where you can ask questions and the community answers them. It's actually pretty cool, check it out and send us your love.

HiveBuzz World Cup Competition
We've told you before, but here's another reminder: You can still join and participate. It's really easy and you don't need a lot of football experience. You can find all the information here.

Even more World Cup - Kicktipp
And if you still haven't had enough of World Cup competitions, you should take a look at the competition run by @der-prophet/@danielhuhservice. You can bet on the outcome of World Cup matches and, if you're right, win juicy prizes. All you have to do is register here and you're ready to go. More information can be found here. (Editor's note: The best prizes are, of course, HIQS, which are also up for grabs.)

News from CryptoCompany CEO
@powerpaul promises great things in the title of his post, but see for yourself. Here we'll tell you that there's a new token and while you're on the engine, you can also buy INK, LOOL.

AI on Hive
The guys at the Cryptomaniacs podcast had big things to announce this week; Veews.io is a machine learning tool that, if you train it well, will show you only the hive posts you might like. @mary-me tested the tool and discovered many accounts with interesting posts that she would never have come across otherwise. If you want to know more about it, here's the introduction post. ★

➀➃ HIVESTYLE

Everyone likes fan mail and if you don't get any, you just make some from the comments you find under the posts. Fake fan mail is better than no mail, or something. LOOL

@itsme9001 praises our talent:

That sure is a lot of talent and style for a 4 year old ;) I see you are a gifted 4 year old. Happy Birthdays guys.

Goo goo gaa gaa.

@thetimetravelerz possibly knows our future:

So you are the guys adding so much swag to Hive ;) Good luck with what you are doing. It is wonderful to see such a team and publication on Hive. Happy Birthday to the Mag and the wonderful team behind it.

Thanks. And we have more where that came from. Just stay tuned and wait for what we have brewed in our basements.

@dailyspam is full of happyness:

Amazing work you're doing with the magazine! THX 🙏 It's always a pleasure to read your posts a get good overview what's going on at the hive blockchain.

We are doing our best 24/7. Even when we are sleeping. Our creativity and work ethic is German as fuck. Also our efficiency is over the top. That is the curse of being a German. But we make this curse our blessing.

@forykw has now everything he dreamed of:

This was sort of what I dreamed of building 3 years ago for the gaming industry on HIVE... glad there are better than me. Epic stuff... keep it up.

Our year long expertise in talking absolute and utter bullshit while writing professional articles came into play here. We are happy you like it.

@katirayo has read every word of the last HiQ:

This is an amazing step @hiq.magazine I read the content and it was very uplifting lol even though it was eight thousand plus words it was worth reading.

8000+ Words. And now what we have done this issue. We are happy to be more than one person. This makes it a little bit easier to publish such massive posts. (Editor's note: It's LOOL by the way. ;))

@detlev wrote, probably holding a glass full of beer:

It's just wonderful to see how the @hiq.magazine comes each month with all the news from our #Hive world. As I wrote already a bunch of books, I know how much work this @hiq.magazine is for the @hiq.redaktion and I like to give some KUDOS for you and for sure as well a sip of !BEER

BEER is always good. And KUDOS as well. It was at times hard to stay consistent. But as the core-team is set up now it works great. We also hope your Aachen Meetup will be great.

@r1s2g3 with an uplifting comment:

This is such a long post that definitely deserved to be in magazine style and really covering lot of topics and I need to come back to read more and go through all of it.
Play2Earn economy is really need to economically sustainable and it is really nice interview. A big congrats to editorial board. I am already following hiq.magzine and give a follow to hiq.redaktion .Voted for the hiq witness also.

You did all the right things. Also this issue is massive. The positive feedback we receive is helping us keep up the good attitude in making a new issue every month.

@hoosie should be done reading every old HiQ:

Wow, great post, I really enjoyed reading it, and can't understand why it's only the first issue I've seen (question to myself !). Congrats on the anniversary, and congrats to @tengolotodo on joing the team (plus nice article Ed). Will be following, and probably leafing through some back issues as well. Excellent content, well done!

Have you read the back issues by now? How do you like them? They are great, that is true. We are also very proud of what we made. :) ★

Wow, great post. Had seen this posted from Raven a couple of places, finally stumbled onto it in my Hive feed! Awesome coverage of some of the great Hive projects and creators! Can't wait to see the next edition, I'll be sure to follow from here!

Got myself about 8 tabs to check out from the article! Thanks for sharing quality content! (Drop it to Sloth.Buzz the new Hive outpost next time around!)

Crypto Shots got a seven-figure offer [..] It later turned out that the "investor" apparently pursued money laundering or tax evasion with the deal. Crypto Shots maintained its integrity and canceled the deal.

Yep, the offer was 3 million for 30% of our project.

I was introduced to them by our streamer and that removed the first layer of suspicion that I would normally have. I flew internationally to Europe to meet the investors and discuss the details of the deal.

First they analyzed our numbers and roadmap to make sure that we would be profitable and then in the final negotiations they slipped in an extra requirement of making some money disappear in crypto.
That told us with what type of investors we were dealing with.
Not under my watch..
