Oreshki Cookies
Oreshnitsa Орешница

Ella made these delicious walnut shaped cookies and brought them to our Thanksgiving dinner.
What a treat! And there are even a few left for me to enjoy with my morning tea.

, Another thing to be grateful for on TDay is having a family of good cooks!

Cookie Dough

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter

1/2 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp granulated sugar

Pinch of salt

1 large egg, beaten

½ tsp vanilla extract

Dulce De Leche

1 can sweetened condensed milk

You can find the complete recipe HERE

Homemade dulce-de-leche for the filling is made by boiling unopened cans sweetened condensed milk in a large pot for a couple of hours.

Along with the Oreshki, she also made
Portuguese Egg Tarts (Pastéis De Nata) and pecan tarts.

You can buy a 12 nut cookie mold to make Oreshki on Amazon for about $35

Family of good cook sounds great 👍

Hello friend, those cookies look very rich and provocative, I also liked the way you give them, perfect to keep them anywhere. As for the perfect filling, a great combination. Thanks for sharing it with us, regards.

It's a great tool, I've never seen it before. I loved the recipe.

Boiled cans of condensed milk!!! Cooked on the stove!!! I didn't know! That's awesome. And they are delicious...

Oh my, oh my! 😊 This is my favorite treat since childhood! In the old days, they were sold only in the market, the old women baked them at home and went to sell them in the markets. With boiled condensed milk, it's just something.

Ella said they had them at home, but her mom never made them, she bought them. They are super delicious! It is the first time I have had them.

👀 These look delicious!

Saving this. Must try these! :D

Amazing. Tasty and nutritious. I would love to have some for myself.. hahaha 😝 yummy to the tummy…

They look very appetising!

the cake must have a good taste and shape is also very good.

Oh I love these, and that was an unusual way to make cookies for Thanksgiving!
Am off to Amazon now to explore...

I used to cook them when I was young girl but why I stopped cooking them I don't know)) looks so delicious. I wish I could go and eat them😃

Love that mold, but unfortunately Amazon would peel my skin off, as shipping fee is overpriced.

But that wont stop me trying these out, especially the cookies.

Those look amazing. Stove top too. Interesting.
