The One I Am Not Fond Of! (It Still Has To Be Done Though!)

Well Hello There Horsepower Lovers!!

The Headache Hyundai!

Wellllll.... it's not exactly a headache but it is for me...

Why? I can tell you why!

Any manual transmission that has a sump is a damn irritation to tear down! Really it is such a hassle to split them open it ain't even one bit on the funny side!
I suppose I should get in there and tear it down right? No use in standing around complaining!

So Far Not Bad!

This is odd actually... For a manual it doesn't have a huge amount of steel caught up on the magnet, not for one that broke down though! Not sure what the problem on this one might be but we will have a dig into this one, might be only the clutch was faulty and they brought in the transmission for repairs?

Well it has been worked on before so there is that... Oh and the oil isn't all that bad aswell! BUT let's see if we can give this guy a proper rebuild!

A Solid Problem!

Meh for me it is... I don't fancy these! Like I said a real hassle to get everything removed! A REAL HASSLE! I now have to remove all those gear selecting shafts before I can proceed to anything else!

I've said it a couple of times before but with this one there is no slacking! If you remove something one way it should go back in that same way! You will in a lifetime not getting anything done if you don't build it in the opposite manner of which you tore it down from!

Sigh, look at all that confusion to puzzle back together!

This Is The Simplest Part!

By far! By far the simplest part! Now in order for me to get all those gear selector shafts out of the way I will need to dig into this set of gears here and get them out of the way!

It's my first time tearing one of these down and heck I hope I don't break anything apart! The problem is that you have to apply an immense amount of power to everything and when you apply too much power there is something that is bound to break! The other problem is un-applying all that power fast enough not to break anything or to know when something is going to break!

Like I told bossman! In this trade you have to know what you're doing without knowing what you're doing! But still knowing?

It's nothing but a mess! A MESS I TELL YOU! Not a fan and never would be!

Finally! To The Last Gear!

Well I did manage to get this one torn to bits! (I'd be lying if I said without the big boss's help!) YEAHP! He assisted me... I actually think he likes it, he likes it when people ask for help with the thing he started from the very foundation!

I could see he felt some sort of proudness in him, he does know what he is doing I can give him that! However old he might be he has some brains left in his tin!

That is something not a lot of folks can say at close to retirement age! But that is of no concern for now! What matters is that I managed to get this ugly thing torn apart!

Oh what a pretty sight right? Or it might just be me again! LAUGHS! Anyways I couldn't exactly spot anything wrong with this one, but maybe there is a bearing somewhere that is rumbling a little too loud! Maybe, but gear wise everything seems to be in order! HAH yeahp I didn't break anything!

The One That Almost Wrecked Me!

Now this one really almost wrecked me! I wanted to ask bossman something and when I asked him I pulled on this bearing and all of those goons went flying around!

This is a $200 USD bearing and I absolutely had to get all of the bearings! Bossman would not have let me pay it if needed but dang no need for extra costs right?
Besides... what if the clients doesn't accept the quote and we have to buy a new bearing anyways?

Expenses yeah! Not good! But good I found all of them!

I really miss the time I used to work dismantling transmission boxes on machinery.
It feels great when you manage to complete a job like this.
Good luck with the client.

It really does feel great when you're all done and everything is working like it should! I built my first Land Cruiser this week and damn I am exstatic about it 😅😅

Thanks for stopping by!
