At first I hesitated to post this here. I was afraid of the wrong room, and @jaki01 would not hesitate to give me a yellow card. This is not about an insect, but a crab. More specifically, a fiddler crab. So why am I so confident in sharing it here? Of course I have a reason. Crabs are classified as arthropods. The rules here allow anyone to post about Arthropods; that's the keyword (although there is the last word: "other"), and I tried to share it here. Hey @jaki01, I'm still nervous. I hope you won't blow a long whistle for me. 😁
Crabs are almost the same as spiders; they also have eight legs. Some spiders are similar to crabs, such as crab spiders (Thomisidae) and spiny-backed orb-weavers (Gasteracantha). The difference is that crabs are classified as Crustaceans or semi-aquatic creatures.
Back to the fiddler crab. This is one of the crab species belonging to the family Ocypodidae. Small in physique, fiddler crabs have two claws, one heavy and one small. Their habitat is found in mangroves and along the coast. If you encounter a fiddler crab, you will see it waving a heavy claw. It is as if they are signaling, "Hey there! Come here; I'm waiting for you!"
