This one female aggressively slaughtered the defenseless soldier fly (Oplodontha viridula ) on the Ageratum conyzoides flowers that swayed gently in the wind.
The female is a lynx spider (Oxyopidae sp. ). Despite being a female, she is quite ferocious and unforgiving. She suffocates the soldier fly with her pedipalps while her jaws stab the nape of her prey.
It's a terrifying sight to behold, but it's also interesting. The female lynx spider is not only decent at caring for her eggs, but she is also extremely excellent at hunting her prey.
